I disagree with one point made - Jerry doesn't firmly believe in his control because he's admitted in the past he would get fired elsewhere. Also, Jerry resorting to cussing in response gives away his bruised ego at the question. He knows, but he is a slave to his ego, and cannot bring himself to do the right thing, because then the fans were right all along and they win.

I also disagree about Prescott being the most impactful free agent of all time. Get outta here with that noise. If there were potential suitors lined up to break the bank for Dak he would waive that no trade clause. There are NO break the bank suitors for a 31 year old QB who has never made it to a conference title game despite stacked rosters and high playoff seeds.

Micro managing excuses and not hearts in the sport.

Just celebrate like there's no tamale!

Deflecting by excuse is a common narcissistic tactic. Do not be surprised just how much he really believes it.

Jerry Jones' mentality was reinforced by his induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He was enshrined primarily for his accomplishments as an owner, who financially revolutionized the league.

His personal self-qualification is the enshrinement justified his 'unquestionable' and unlimited adequacy as a general manager. The lifetime achievement honor was, quite literally, the worst thing that could ever happen to a narcissist.

There may have been a less than 1% chance of Jones would voluntarily relinquish his GM title eventually. That possibility vanished in 2017.

FALSE

Dak wants to remain in Dallas and continue being the franchise QB to his childhood favorite team. Guaranteed there will be various teams willing to pay him top pay if Dak becomes a free agent after this 2024 season. Stop fooling yourself.

The article's embedded 'Jonathon Brooks' tweet may be the best example of Jones' competency as a general manager. And he was not senile. As usual, his know-it-all brain kicked in automatically and his mouth followed suit.

The question today is not gamble perceived, but how much they are going to commit already to where their evaluation and commitment is going to reflect their decisions in Prescott already. That role and studying has already been invested by franchise. Support contracts are what affects commitment on more immediate cash flow considerations. A couple cornerbacks and defensive Parson's immediacy are the most dominant influence for the years to affect Prescott's number of years. 3 years to 4 years are my guess unless he gives some later flexibllity for Stephen.

I dont know if Dak is still married to the idea of playing for the Cowboys, it feels more like a situationship than a relationship as the kids say these days. I do agree completely that Dak will have no shortage of offers if he hits free agency though. There will be probably 10 teams minimum with serious interest in him. This idea that he will struggle to get serious offers from other teams is crazy talk though.

It’s sad that posters like that are cheering against their so called favorite team just for a glimmer of hope that Dak leaves. What is going on with this world.

It's like the husband who gets tired of living with the years long wife. She eventually leaves because of his lust for a much younger bride, but the younger bride ends up not even being half as good a wife as the previous one was. He learns the hard way, "the grass isn't always greener on the other side."

One of them on here accused others of putting Dak above the team. He was showing off his complete lack of awareness as he roots for the Cowboys to lose when Dak plays…thus actually putting one player above the team and winning.

This.........as stated many times THIS is our major downfall during the post-season IMO. FO never closes the gap with quality free agents between our drafted players and bottom feeders. Yet many want to blame Romo and Dak or Garrett and McCarthy.

When Cowboys fans wonder why they haven’t reached an NFC championship game in three decades and the Eagles have made two Super Bowls in the past seven years, the answer is that the Eagles are shelling out over 50 percent more cash each season than Dallas. This year, for example, the Eagles are outspending the Cowboys in cash on their roster by $100 million. In football terms, the Eagles just want it more.

AC is obviously to the fact that Dak isn’t going anywhere except a payday. Thanks for the eight year of underperformance, here’s your participation award. See yourself to the door with your bloated stats. Is it Trey, probably not but shouldn’t have to married to a wife that doesn’t compromise or work as part of the team. Ask wanting exuberant salary is like the wife that’s a gold digger, just cut ties and find true love. He hasn’t gotten anywhere with his top paid offense always underperforming in playoffs vs regular season nfc least stats.

I agree with you about not being the most impactful but he'll get paid next year as a FA.

To think otherwise is kind of silly in a league where teams spend oodles of money on good, not great players.
