It is possible to find another QB. I think people are stressing too much over this. Hell, the Bucs made the playoffs with Mayfield. I don't dislike Dak, I dislike Dak at 60M a year +95M carry over. A QB like Dak on a rookie deal would be just fine. Without the panic mode in the playoffs of course. Even a second contract isn't that bad if done correctly. But a 3rd contract is where it gets really tough.

It’s about the guaranteed at signing money. Cowboys want a shorter deal that has way less guaranteed money at signing than Dak wants. Years is just another way to state this. If the deal does not get done before the season begins, they will all wait till after the season is over.
