When will we know something about these Cowboys?

The Parcells Theory is that teams know what they are by Thanksgiving.
This year, I'd say the SF game is as important as a regular season game can possibly be for the team. They've lost 4 times in 3 seasons to the 49ers.
I'm hoping they catch Baltimore at the perfect time in their schedule. The Ravens are as solid as a team gets but they slip early in the schedule often. They'll still be there in the end (AFC Championship).

Yeah....I feel like if we look good in Sept and October, that should pretty much tell us all we're destined for playoff greatness.

By the week 8 trade deadline. Tough or supposedly tough early games. They've really been mostly solid in the regular season. We need to see if they change their playoff approach. That is the cultural issue they need to address.

I admit that I was pretty disgusted by these armchair losers who flooded this forum with their meaningless opinions about the Cowboys after one game. One game? Why can't these losers get a life?!

But whatever, I get it. Every fan forms an opinion at some point. For example, I would be really impressed if the Cowboys were to beat the Saints and the Ravens. But even then, I kind of want to wait and see until after the Niners game. By then, we should have a good sample size to begin making a judgment.

What say you, boy?
Probably when the playoffs start. I can't completely buy in until then. Truth be told your scenario will be hard not to take the bait. I'm sure I'll get more excited, but I'm really not trying to get ahead of myself this year.

I'll need to see continued defense and a running game.

Thanksgiving. That’s what The Tuna said and I trust in The Tuna.

Watch the new Sounds From The Sidelines from this week. That will tell you something about this team. It’s a completely different team this year!!! I like it!

Mid January is when we will know what we need to know about this team. And not a second before

Just like Dallas has the Giants number SF has the Cowboys.

I don’t see it ending either.

The Cowboys are the same team as last year.

Regular season darlings who pull a Charlie Brown in January.

They don’t have the mental fortitude to get the monkey off their back.
Not even close to the same team as last year.

Great question. I would say January. I would also say the 6 game gauntlet between Pittsburgh and Houston. Can Dallas be 3-3 or better in those??? That would be a good sign.

I would say that this group of linebackers makes this team better overall, with a better shot at winning it all in quite some time. Then I look at the RB room, and hope that Cook regains his old form or Deuce plays like he did at KState.

How we do vs. the Ravens will give me a good clue of what this team is capable of. Of course, each game is another step in that direction!
