I was watching this video with Jane, Voch, and Broaddus and around 17:30 Jane makes some very interesting comments about how cheap Jerry is when it comes to paying coaches, how much he undermines and doesn't really value his head coach. Apparently the word is out around the league amongst coaches as to how cheap Jerry really is. Man, I went from loving Jerry for many years to hating his guts the past half decade. I hate him for how much he's made me hate him. It's also clear he's really a terrible negotiator and gets fleeced in every deal, as they also touch on in this discussion.

If this wasn’t already clear or obvious after Jimmy Johnson situation, I don’t know what to tell you…he literally said anybody could’ve takened that head coach position and won with those squads.

Jerry doesn’t respect this sport

I think his ego has a lot to do with our lack of activity in free agency. The market moves fast and he’s uncomfortable with that and he feels like he’ll lose by moving so quickly. If he can’t move at his pace, then he’s out.

Exactly. This isn't new, it goes back to Jimmy and the 500 coaches comment.

He's always believed the players were the stars and coaches were overrated.

Again, the biggest reason McCarthy is still here is because Jerry is loathe to pay a coach to sit on his couch while Jerry also pays a new HC. He literally whined about "dead money" for coaches.

MM is making 4 per. Quinn is making 4.5.

Highest paid guys are Reid (deserved) and Payton (undeserved) at 18 million.

I’d say MM is underpaid a bit but it has a lot to do with having a 5 year old contract. Salaries have easily doubled in the NFL since 2020.

When you are the most valuable franchise in sports, the most profitable in sports, soiling yourself over the cost of coaches is laughable.

But we see how cheap they are in FA, why would it be any different for coaches?
Coaches dont even count against the cap. So its really based solely on Jerry thinking the HC position doesnt matter.

And in Dallas. It really doesnt.

"I don't pay coaches not to coach..." - Jerry Jones circa early/mid 2000’s

I remember hearing him say that and losing all respect for him.

It's one thing to make a mistake w/ a coaching decision. It's a totally other thing to hold on to them b/c you are too cheap to payout a fired coach.

This is how the most valuable sports franchise on Earth operates....

This isn't breaking news.

Jerry doesn't value the head coaching position. He will listen but ultimately will do what he wants to do.

Belichick is not coming here. Would mean McClay would probably be fired and I can't see that happening

It's good that the media is starting to say the things that have been said on this board for years.
It took Jerry threatening one of their counterparts for them to finally open up and speak out against him.
