Right now the Cowboys have hope, and they are playing well.
Not great, but well.
Next season begins a four year deal with Dak Prescott, and it doesn't matter who the Cowboys get from the draft, the problems of the last eight years will still exist.
IF, and it's a big IF, these Cowboys can get to the playoffs, you might get to see them actually remind you of what made this franchise great.
But if Dak is the quarterback for the next four years, some of us might not ever see the Cowboys we grew to love again.
Losing destroys morale, and the rebuild that it would take to restore the Cowboys to a semblance of what we grew to love could be ten years away.
So, enjoy the rest of this year; at least the next game. And if the Cowboys win it, take it one game at a time and hope for the best.
It might be the last time you can hope to see the real Dallas Cowboys for a while.

The problems of the last 8 years?

I know you've been around longer than that.

We would still have to deal with the problems of the last 28 years.

Any other "problems" are mere symptoms of that problem.

Hahaha, I wondered were this would be going before opening the thread. I hadn't expected this. But what a spin.

:muttley:

I mean I'm also not looking forward to the next 4 years but the op is something else.

I love how Dak is the blame for everything wrong with the Cowboys..............I just got one simple question.

Dak was drafted in 2016, how many playoff wins, championship game appearances, and SBs were we winning before he showed up?

I will save everybody the google search...........we were winning JACK before Dak showed up, so winning JACK after he is here is just more of the same.

Maybe the GM (the only constant over the past 30 yrs) might be the real problem, ya think???

Are you saying it takes 10 years to rebuild a team.
this team has so much young talent, I think we’re one or two coaches away from bringing it all together.
We’re playing like individuals, if we played like a team. And that requires a coaching change in my opinion.
You know what forget it . This is just who you are.

You can’t preach it, they don’t wanna hear it. It’s wo is me. They forget we had 12 different starting quarterbacks after Troy Aikman. And then Tony. Who was an absolute warrior. And then Prescott, who was also consistently a top 10 quarterback sometimes top five. But it’s his fault and nobody else’s. But the history shows everybody that they’re wrong. It’s the team management the GM, that’s the consistent problem.

Sheesh dude you need to get a grip the real Dallas Cowboys were gone after Roger Staubach and Tom Landry.

Then the reasonable facsimile died with the demise of Jimmy Johnson and the triplets.

We have not been the real Dallas Cowboys since Jerry took over complete control of everything.

Sure we can enjoy some good football if we are privileged to watch some the rest of this year see the young guys progress but there are no real Dallas Cowboys left playing in the NFL.

I think what we've been watching the last two weeks is better than what we've seen field the majority of the last 17 years.
I don't think Dak makes it four more years or even one more year. I think he's done in Dallas. I think the team quit on him, and are fed up with him.
But, just in case......

Exactly

The past is the past, you never know what’s going to happen
As long as skelator is running things I can guess the outcome and not be far off

That’s why I just do my best to enjoy each game . I know unless bad brings happen to other contenders ( not wishing that ) the likelihood of a repeat of the 90s are slim to none

So I enjoy the ride and my sb or bust fandom left before Dak got here

That god awful contract has him here next year no doubt. The team will be mediocre, and hopefully drafted his successor with a new coaching regime in place.
If they think Lance is the guy, and don’t draft a qb….we’re in for 8 years of trash.
