Stephen 'can't imagine' seeing Parsons play elsewhere as Cowboys enter crucial 2025 offseason

Jerry Jones, Stephen Jones, vice president of player personnel Will McClay and other members of the team's brass will explore the effects that signing big-money, high-profile, top-of-position players has on their rest of their roster.

These people are absolute morons.. I don't know how else to describe them.

Don't you think this may have been prudent BEFORE you hand out 2 massive contracts??.. due diligence and all that.

No.. lets do it now AFTER the fact.

I never ceased to be amazed by their constant mismanagement.

There are no rivalries or hatred amongst players and teams. They only want to be paid
This is a fact. Smart franchises take advantage of this by identifying the right players. In a league where players are in it for themselves if you can somehow build a team with a solid nucleus of players who still love the game and want to win for their team mates you have a huge advantage. We are basically the opposite of this. We are the reality TV show that you watch for the inevitable train wreck. No chance at real success.

All this is is a stall tactic to draw his contract out like they do every season

The Cowboys have a solid foundation of players but to get to the next level the Cowboys have to make moves in free agency. I doubt that will happen ever happen because the Joneses are more concerned with staying on the Forbes lists and winning the real Super Bowl for owners, the team that makes the most profit at the end of season. Jerry has won that award like 20 years straight.

The typical negotiating nonsense from the Jones boys has begun. Next we'll hear negative locker room things about him. The usual tactics. Smh

They are going to re-sign him. No doubt in my mind. Don't drag it out like they did with Prescott's first big contract. Don't make him play under the 5th year option and two franchise tags. Pointless. The Cowboys owner/GM and EVP think the NFL is the NBA. Ever since the hype train of The Triplets made them believe that you only need a few stars ro win a SB, this is what they have been chasing. That is how they build teams. They will not let Parsons (a star) go.

Just pay him before free agency, free up cap space doing so, and do not repeat the offseason of 2024 where you did nothing to bring in talent while losing talent left and right.

I'm warming to the idea but only if we get top value..........I wouldn't pick up the phone for anything less than two 1sts and a 2nd
I would be all over that deal!
But knowing our front office we will take a 5th and then be told what a good deal they got.
I am kidding, sort of ....

These contract negotiations are so stupid.

A good team would give Parsons his contract asap and shut up about it.

Stephen and Jerry will move at a snails pace and turn the fan base against Micah and save not a dime in the process when they finally sign him to the highest non-QB contract in the league
That’s the part that mystifies me. If they want Parsons long term, every single day they wait to sign him costs more. Their usual strategy of waiting is such a bad move. In the cap era, waiting is losing.

I could be dead wrong but I'm seeing a crack of moving on from Parsons

Bold thinking........leverage Parsons to draft Hunter ( team picking 3rd overall )
A bad move IMO. What is harder to find…a great pass rusher or great corner? Answer: A disruptive pass rusher. So trading Parsons to get Travis Hunter plus an extra draft pick is not a sure thing you improved your team.

These guys have proven incompetent in both extending players and trading players.

So they will inevitably screw this up with Parsons, whatever they choose to do.

Knowing the Joneses, we'll probably end up letting him go in free agency for a 3rd round comp pick.

You guys that want that "bounty" need to stop setting yourself up for disappointment. They are going to extend him. We all know you its going to happen. In your heart you do to.

You have no confidence in our front office?
:lmao2: :lmao: :muttley:

Because it creates drama, Cowboys are all about drama and TV time. Its a country club full of TV producers.

Honestly...I am on the fence. I would love to see him finish his career as a Cowboy. My ONLY concern is positional injuries. They can't seem to make up their mind whether he's an LBer or a DE. His podcast, contract value/size or personality (mouth) doesn't bother me but his becoming a Sean Lee type does, a lot.

Sean Lee type in what way?

Injuries cost him a lot of games after his contract. He never played a full season after signing his 2nd contract in 2013. As stated, I don't care about all the other stuff that bothers some fans. Just the injury risk.......
