Shan: Hearing an offer to Schottenheimer is coming

Pump the breaks... a much more reliable source than Shan has intel...

Doesn't make Shan's tweet false, of course, but it does make it less certain... of course.

let's hope so.

otherwise, it would be pretty weird to be offering the guy a contract during his interview that just started.

almost like they didn't really have legit interviews with the other guys. that can't be. surely not the Joneses.

as a kid, you're taught - don't take a job if they offer it on the spot. hope Schottenheimer learned that too.

I’ll take Schott over a retread older HC . Younger more in touch with the locker room the last guy went 13-20 in two of 5 seasons don’t want Zimm - Phillips …..and I’m sorry not taking the word of the morning shock jock let’s see how this plays out

Amazing coaching prospect.

But he's a leader for real.

I still don't understand the reason we even brought him to the Cowboys. Dude is trash. That was a trash hire by McCarthy or Jerry Jones. He sucks as a OC. Our offensive scheme is terrible. I've never seen so many hitches and comebacks in an offensive scheme. We wonder why our QB's had so many tight window throws.

Our offense was so stagnant and old and plodding with him here. How could they not see that?

• New OC in Dallas: The Dallas Cowboys announced that they hired Brian Schottenheimer to be the team's new offensive coordinator on Saturday.

• New play-caller: Even with Schottenheimer installed as offensive coordinator, Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy is expected to call plays for the offense.

Limit the curls: One major benefit to the Schottenheimer hire is that it should mean that Dallas moves away from the curl/hitch routes that littered its offense under Kellen Moore in an effort to prioritize hitting receivers on the move.

It looks like limiting the curls never happened. We are king of the curls/hitches.

What’s amazing to me is Jerry knows the fan reaction to this is going to be bad. He’s almost doing it to show the fans he’s in control.
Agree. Jerruh will basically give a big old middle finger to the fans with the next HC hire.
Jerruh doesn't care about the fans.
TV Contract $$$$ and Tickets sold to opponent's fans make him Billions, win or lose.

Honestly, it's probably because Dak isn't capable of running anything more complex than basic stuff and they want to keep him comfortable for the 8 or 10 weeks a season he'll be healthy enough to play.

This is just another "Dak is comfortable with him and so am I (Jerry)" hire.

He’s egotistical and petulant

They could've hired a much better puppet.
I'm not sure I believe this. Maybe they're selling the team. I know they are becoming really cheap as far as spending any money to try to try and build the the team back up. Honestly if that were the case, I would be all in. Yes sir, I would be all in the joneses selling out.

Mike brought him here as Mike broke into coaching working for Marty. Mike was repaying the favor and hired him.

people have been mentioning on different boards and that fox announcer made the same claim a a year and a half ago mainly centering around financial reasoning and how cheap and slow they are being on everything . I have zero idea on why they would sell when they are still making money.
