Is Dak the only super greedy QB in Cowboys history?

It would seem that Dak and Romo are similar, but I always felt better with Romo leading a comeback. Dak seems to be easily confused when DC's decide they've had enough.
Not me. They nothing have shown that when it gets to the post season they can't get it done. It's like choosing between homemade vanilla or French vanilla ice cream.

They need to be in the Miller Lite commercial....

"Less Filling!!"
"Taste Great!!!"
who cares neither could overcome the clown Owner/GM Jerry the next "I love this QB" wont be able to either....

Surprise...

Defending the greed of one player by bringing up the greed of another player isn't a defense. It's a coping mechanism. Is Dak overly greedy? Sure. Was Romo? Sure. The problem was Jerry agreeing to those contracts.

However, Dak was dishonest, saying things like "It's for the brotherhood" when his actual football brothers should have been his team, not other QB's. He wasn't doing it for them. He was doing it for himself.

That's fine and all, but it showed that he wasn't as concerned about building a better team and being able to afford it than he was about getting as much money as possible. Jerry's mistake was agreeing to it and that is who we should focus most of the ire on.

Romo was never the highest paid ever. And was 10x the QB Dak will ever be.
Sure, but apparently Dak is a better negotiator....which contract would you, or any other one in here would rather have? Can't fault him for getting as much as he can.

When he signed his $108 million extension it made him the 5th highest paid QB in 2013.

Had Dak accepted the 5th highest last year we would have saved $7 million per season ($53 million, 11.7% cheaper). That 7 million per, if given to someone else, would be the 10th highest paid player on this year's team.

Not blaming Dak, but he isn't worth either of those 2 numbers IMHO. Especially since, as shown above, it's not just costing the team an overpaid player (Dak) but also another above average starter somewhere else on the team.
true except the Jones idiots wouldn't actually spend it. They would find a way to give it to Micah and then claim they have no money left.

I'm out on Dak as much as anyone.

But when you're playing for an unserious organization that won't actually invest and help you win, it's a no brainer to take what you can get.

Romo didn't choke in the playoffs. The ball was slippery on that FG snap, and anyone could have mishandled it, and when he tried to run it in, he had poor blocking.

IIRC, Dak was about the only one who played well in the playoff game against the Rams (?) Everyone else just crapped the bed.

A QB can't win by himself.
Quit making excuses. Romo choked as hard as any QB has ever choked by fumbling that ball. Nobody else did in that game, just Romo at the absolute worst possible time on an easy chip shot FG. Should have been looking for his replacement at that moment.

He also choked in three straight win and get in or go home games to all three division rivals by coming up small when it mattered most.

No sensible person thinks Cabo made any difference
Just like "No True Scotsman", huh?

If it didn't make a difference then why did the team do a 180 from how they played in the regular season?

The answer is because Romo, the leader of the team, never took being a champion seriously so he would let himself, and his team get distracted with being celebrities and living the rich and famous lifestyle rather than put that on hold for a few weeks to devote 100% concentration on the playoffs.

It was inexcusable.

Another Dak lover that does not know the facts about that play, but, I consider the source. smh

You calling me a "Dak Lover", lol. You don't know me at all.

And please, gives us your reasons why Romo didn't choke on a chicken bone on that play. You gonna appeal to "slipper football" as your pathetic excuse?

Nobody else fumbled a simple chip shot hold in the game, just Romo, and at the worst possible time. Go ahead and cry "slipper ball" all you want. It's just a sore loser's excuse for Romo being a choke artist.
Get educated about that play then get back to me, otherwise, I consider the source.

IMHO its not Dak's job to help Stephen not understand how to work the cap - if I'm an engineer at Google, an investment banker at Goldman, etc I'm getting as much as I can get, as the market enables me to get. No one twisted Stephen's arm to sign him and then say ridiculous stuff like he's the best QB in the league. What Romo did there was incredibly savvy.

Nah. Dak will walk on graciously like all other Cowboys QBs, except for one, not set up an hour long rant to the media.
Graciously? Same guy who cheered fans for throwing stuff at a ref after Dak blew a game. Guy is far from gracious.

Overall both guys got nothing done. Not sure what this comes up.

Funny how your go to deflection when you are inevitably forced to eat your own words is "I wasn't talking to you, you stalker". Yet here you are.

Also funny how another of your go to deflections is "the only thing you post about is Dak", yet here you are, spewing all over in two separate Romo threads, doing your very best to defend Dak and diminish Romo, over and over and over and over.

But what's really funny is how here you are white knighting for AC when it is crystal clear you will end up the same. A grown man in his 50's with a creepy obsession that most move past about the time they discover girls.

Now that's funny!
If I end up like AC at 50? I’d take it. Seems like a good dude he ain’t a hater. Being like you at 50 might bring up menopause and depression.

Just because someone doesn't win...or even if they don't play well... doesn't mean they "choked". Choking is when the moment is too big for you, and for an undrafted player to make it to the starting QB position of the Dallas Cowboys, and break a lot of records along the way, makes it hard to believe he's a choker

:hammer: Good post, well said

Fans forget Dak was a 4-year starter on a 4th round rookie deal. I believe Romo started his 3rd year in the league and Jerry gave him a new contract in the 4th year.
Just a follow-up. Romo didn't start until his 4th season. You won't find any statistics for his first season because he was not activated for a single game. For reference, he came in at the same time as Jason Witten, who was drafted in 2003.

Not only did Romo not start until his 4th season, he didn't throw a single pass prior to that. He was activated as a 3rd QB for his 2nd and 3rd seasons but mostly as the holder for field goals and extra points.

Tony Romo's first regular season pass attempt came against Houston in the 5th game of his 4th year. it was a 33 yard pass to Sam Hurd. His 2nd career pass was a 2 yard TD to Terell Owens.
