Joe Milton has 'lottery odds' to become an NFL star

They get an opportunity to show what they got on the scout team against the number 1 Defense. When Romo and Austin was carving up our D, Parcell's new he had something.
Romo wasn't carving up anything his rookie camp. Anyone who saw him in camp that year will tell you, he was the worse QB in camp that year and we had some bad ones. He did work hard to change his throwing motion and got much better eventually.
I think what Parcells did like about Romo early on was Romo's swagger and probably trusted Payton's eval of Romo.

Dude you lost me.
Yeah, Hurts was SEC player of the year as a Freshman. Runner up for Heismann balloting as a senior.

Where in hades do people get this stuff from?

Tom Brady started for MICH both his Jr and Sr year and led them to Big 10 titles in both. All-Big 10 conference 2nd team and team MVP his senior year. Set Mich records for most pass attempts and completions in a season.

Once again, where do people get the spew from? I mean, this is incredibly easy to look up.

Romo was a terrible practice QB. Common knowledge.

I don’t have a problem rolling the dice on a developmental player with all the physical tools.

My concern is with who’s coaching and developing him.

I think the Cowboys may have some coaching roles backwards.

Ken Dorsey was coaching Josh Allen at the start of his career. He’s turned out alright.

Who exactly has Shimko developed?

And could not get us past a divisional playoff win either. In real games.
2-4 in the playoffs.
2 win and in games they could not win to make the playoffs. finished 8-8. The 3rd 8-8 win and in season, Orton was the QB in for an again, injured Tony.

You took a beating in the post. Just take the L and move on. You got a laundry list of bad -average college qbs that became nfl starters-even the goat.

Doesn’t mean Milton will be a good nfl player. Just means your argument is in fact the one that holds no water.
You may want to take a long hard look in the mirror if you find yourself agreeing with Rambo. Seems like a nice person but he's totally divorced from reality.

Really good post!

If you ever saw Romo at camp his first two years there is no way you would have thought he'd end up being a top starting QB in the NFL. In fact he was terrible at camp in his rookie year with his funky throwing motion
Woodson thought he was the best QB on the team in 2003.

Brady lost his job to Drew Henson and didn't go until the 6th round. The right up on him was basically similar to Cooper Rush that they didn't have NFL arms and backup were their ceiling.
Your conveniently leaving out he won the job back. Go watch the bowl game against Alabama and decide for yourself if you think he was a good college QB. It was vintage Brady.

In this case I'm going by having watched him. He has zero touch.
He will have time to work on that. All we can do is wait and see.

A Tennessee fan friend of mine, thinks Milton was decent, but was not over enthusiastic about him either.
Then again, the trade was mentioned, but we did not get to actually discuss him to any depth. Other than the trade.

She is also a GB fan, so did not seem to be enthused about him going to Dallas.

Tony was known for that deer in the headlights thingie in crunch time. Several posters called it "The Glitch." He had a tendency to do really stupid things when the chips were down. Don't forget that stupid little dump pass in the WASH game. What was Romo thinking? He wasn't. Romo was a jungleballer who had major issues trying to run a competent prototypical NFL O.

There is no doubt in my mind that he will be a markedly better Qb than Trey Lance was......

Yeah, from what I'm seeing he was terrible.
It's mind boggling what Jerry has reduced this fan base to.....jumping for joy because he traded for a guy who someday maybe might be a backup or scrub starter. As much as I hate him, at some point you have to blame the fans who willingly accept the slop he serves up year after year.

People are actually swayed by things like the vids of him throwing the ball 80 yards on a practice field with a bunch of his bros running around in tee shirts.

I mean, we know that accuracy, reading defenses, feel in the pocket, etc. are far more important to playing QB, but the huge arm still mesmerizes people. t's amazing.

As I stated yesterday in another thread we will know come PS if he can play. He and Grier will get all the reps.

I find the extreme optimism for him pretty weird. Since it was only a 5th I don't care all that much, of course, but I cannot fathom what fans are seeing in him.

I am not talking about camp. I talking about the Scout Team.
