Is Dak Tradeable?

Bad teams might be interested. But he’s already on a bad team. Why would he approve a trade?

No more money. No more chance to win. And he’s away from his new home. How stupid do you think Dak Prescott is?
Probably true.

Feels like teams would currently rather take a chance on a cheap retread than spend assets acquiring an established starter.

Darnold & Daniel Jones have been wildly more successful and Rodgers and Cousins.

Put it this ways. Dak Prescott's contract is akin to cancer afflicting the Cowboys franchise. Any attempt to surgically remove it is going to result in killing the patient.

I'm not a let's trade Dak guy. In fact, he's been very good. But is it time to think about putting feelers out to see if we have any takers? To gage his value? I mean, we are sitting there already with premium picks, why not stockpile more? I think he has 2 years left on his deal. Is that contract something a team is willing to take on? I'm thinking maybe we should start over at QB now, since we are in transition mode. Give me your thoughts.
To me with the cap and what QB's are getting of it i would build the team first then plug in the rookie QB... for sure trade Dak if you could for the biggest haul you can and with those picks build the team... now we both know our GM isnt doing any of this..so the point is nill.

kill the patient but its not forever.. the problem is our GM wont rebuild and even if he would he doesnt know how...

Can’t.. no trade clause unless Dak wants out..

But Dallas is a QB dreams, particularly with endorsements and as long as the team is relevant.
As long as the QB doesn’t care about winning a championship then Dallas is definitely the place to go.

Hell yes, he is, and he should be!

Today is a garbage stat day for Dak. He'll feel great about his imaginary participation trophy . We are forever doomed.

Unbelievable that those 2 fools let themselves get suckered into that contract. They are the 2 biggest morons this side of Cleveland when you look at the deals they've signed. Old man Martin wants more $ on the eve of camp? Sure why not. Make Bland and Smith among the top paid? Sure thing. Idiots.

Dak's contract is so bad that even a team who loved him wouldn't agree to it, maybe if Big and Little Enos agreed to pay half of it or some such. And the guarantee on subsequent years, just stupidity all around.

Why does Jerry make outrageous comments about how awesome Dak is? Because the old fool paid him like he was Josh Allen, bound himself in blood to a deal he couldn't get out of, so he has to keep up the charade that he is Josh Allen.

Come on man. Don't you know that Prescott has a no-trade clause in his contract? Why would he want to go anywhere other than Dallas at this point in his career?

Over and over this is proffered as an option when it really isn't. Prescott isn't going anywhere he doesn't want to go. Full stop. It's far more likely that he will either retire a Cowboy or be cut. A trade is just not gonna happen. Moreover, his salary would be a real stumbling block for most teams...even though there are more than a few quarterbacks making 55 million/yr now. This is only ticking upwards. His 60 mil/yr might be ho-hum in two or three years.

Nope. You are stuck with the Dak until he either retires or is cut.

Can we trade our real problems Like can we trade the entire defense the defensive staff with Eber flues going first Nobody even talks about this What if Eberflues does get fired isn't it up to the new DC whether he keeps any of these leftover coaches that are under him now shouldn't they just fire them all, I mean let's get rid of the actual players and coaches who are not doing well and not be picking on the offensive side of the ball...

Mean people are sitting here talking about that now why because Prescott keeps us in games we shouldn't have any business in because our defense is that bad they give up easy touchdowns every game and no matter how fast Prescott tries to get the offense going the last two weeks remember you said if we start fast well isn't getting up 7 to nothing starting fast isn't coming back and getting up 10 to 7 also starting fast I mean it's not his fault when there's penalties and drop passes and fumbles and all that kind of stuff I mean you know getting the touchdown called back or be 14 14 right now...

Yes ask Prescott if he wants to be traded because he has a no trade clause you can't force him off the team he has a no franchise tag clause and his dead cap would hurt this team more than it would help you all just want to get bad on purpose and I understand you think we can get better you think that Bonix or Drake May is just sitting out there without realizing we could also be in the same boat that many teams were like Washington the Jets the Browns I mean look at the Browns they're paying like six quarterbacks right now yes that's how it can be that's the reality these anomalies were Occasionally a team finds a really good quarterback on a rookie contract that they can build a possible contender...

So I just want to add to it since this got moved to the top in a game in which Prescott is playing well once again continuing to add to his team records not his fault we're losing the game that kind of thing so let's be honest here let's get rid of the defense first let's get rid of 60% of the players and the whole coaching staff on the defensive side of the football..

Its not just this thread thats the thing. Its this fanbase. They actually are naive enough to think that a QB change fixes things. I saw a couple of plays last night where Dak should have tossed it away and one where he missed flourney down the middle. But I saw multiple plays on the defensive side of the ball where their receivers were running wide open or McCarthy was scrambling for first downs or he could bake a cake in the backfield cause no pressure was made from our pathetic DL and no adjustment from our even worse Coordinator. (eburflus is pure garbage).and its been like that all year

We have to have the worst secondary in the league. Ill give Revell the benefit of the doubt because hes a rook and coming off a bad injury but he sucks.Ill give him another offseason. Bland is garbage to and listening to Collinsworth like hes so good was disgusting. And our LBs they also must be the worst in the league

But hey lets blame the QB who isnt going nowhere. Our bookend tackles are Horrid
Dak like romo before keeps this thing bobbing instead of drowning, aka bucks for Jerry and Stephen. Plus I’m guessing you just did more sophisticated cap analysis that Stephen has ever done so i don’t think they’ve ever entertained the idea.

:hammer:

5 new defensive starters next year…AT LEAST. Plus another new coordinator.

Good thing we have an amazing GM to get all of that done…and no 2nd or 3rd round picks

If you’re watching this game and complaining about the QB you need SERIOUS therapy.

Look at the rest of the QB contacts and look at the years/$ and how they Arne structured to keep cap hits somewhat reasonable…and then look at Dak’s contract. The GM screwed the contract from every aspect to timing to pay out structure. All the problems of this organization point to Jerry/Stephen and no one else. I mean, it’s been THIRTY YEARS. How much evidence do you need that the GM/owner of this team is an incompetent moron?

It's a good thing you bring the defense up in a thread that they're trying to trade A quarterback one of the only ones that I can think of that are going to keep you in a game like this long enough for it to be competitive until it's not....ughh

Not even a team as desperate as say Cleveland? They have shown multiple times they are willing to pay
He has a no trade clause so really hard to trade. A team just a QB away would be interested but few of those abd he controls where he goes making it really hard
