Thinking Osa can play DE is comical.

The Eagles used a 3-3-5 defense a high % of the time, but they have 3 or 4 supermen on their defense who can do everything, we don't have that luxury. More often than not, NFL offenses dictate that your defense is going to be in some semblance of a 4-2-5, that's what you need to acquire players for.

He can say that, but does not mean it is 100% true.

During the year he did the draft from his big boat, during covid. He said he went by the big board they all put together. He did not deviate from it.
When it came time for the pick. he went by it and what they all decided. There was no one there to prevent him from doing otherwise. No one to snatch cards from his hand.

I think Overshown will play one of the middle LBs. EZ is built like a 3-4 DE and Clowney would be an outside as weill.

We nede to replace a bunch of players on the back end of the defense already, so it's not a bad year to switch to more 3-4 given we can find players for the scheme and have solid DTs that can play DE in the 3-4.

One more idea is to bring in a full-sized nose and rotate QW (303 lbs), Clark (313 lbs), and Osa (280 lbs) at DE. Keep in mind that Clark sees himself as a Nose and is the biggest of the 3 (313 lbs), so I'd picture him lined up at nose.

3/4 and 4/3 talk is nonsense. "Base" defenses are run 10/20 pct of the time. League defense is hybrid almost all the time.

It is unknown if he runs the 3-4 like Fangio. He might have his own ideas or a combination of both. If it is similar to Fangio’s, a good secondary is a must.

His base is still a 3-4 but it is flexible. He also uses 5-2 and 4-2 nickel. I like it because of the disguised coverages.

i think he’s only a rotational piece. but we need him with clark manning the NT. i think in a few years he might be able to replace clark. big emphasis on MIGHT

I watch every single Eagles game and his base defense is not a 3 - 4. Its mainly 5- 2. Occassionally he may employ 3-4 concept or have the DE drop back in coverage but Vic Fangios primary defensive personnel is 5 -2

He will be out of the league in a few years. Guy can't play at this level.

That’s how down bad the front office had the fans about the DT position. People were just excited about a warm body heavier than 300 pounds.

I wouldn’t over think it. The cowboys played some 3-4ish looks this year. It won’t be a massive change up front in that regard

I liked what they did with 5 man fronts some last year on early downs. But to be realky effective you need instincts at LB

Eh, teams only run base about 20-25% of the time anyway. Not a big deal. You'll probably see more of the 5 man fronts to match teams running more 13 personnel.

I would say Osa and Williams at DEs and Clark in the middle. Eze ad Clowney at OLB, Overshown and new LB in the middle.

hopefully we get to draft Downs and Styles.

Clowney is more of a depth, rotational guy at this point

5-2 defense against spread offenses. Makes sense in Dallas.

He runs a base 3-4 under. Everybody has nickel packages and that is going to be the majority defense due to spread offenses.
