Some things I have seen online about what to expect from Christian Parker assuming he stays true to his Fangio roots:
1. Lots of cover two high coverage (both safeties deep), but with "rotating zones". This means a quarterback can read a cover two look that is really a cover three, or a cover three that is really a cover one, and so on.
2. Five man fronts, but with a twist. In many ways the five man front in a Fangio defense is often a variation of the 3-3-5 scheme. The Cowboys will mix and match pieces in this front; perhaps using Donovan Ezeiruaku as a stand up rush linebacker. There will be three DT's similar to what Dallas briefly used this season after picking up Quinnen Williams, but it will be nowhere near as static as what Eberflus used. It is difficult to read where the pressure will come from pre-snap because the lineup does not overload one side of the other.
3. Simulated pressure. When the Cowboys showed a blitz look in 2025, they usually blitzed. They almost never backed out of it and this made it painfully easy for opposing offenses. The Cowboys only simulated pressure 8 percent of the time last season under Eberflus. By comparison, the Eagles used sim pressure nearly 38 percent of the time.
4. More press man coverage. No team uses press man or zone exclusively, but the Cowboys were at the extreme end of not using man- between just 4 to 8 percent of the time depending on who's stats you read. The Eagles with Parker/Fangio were over 28 percent pure press man. Again the numbers vary depending on the source, but let's just say the Cowboys were way too zone heavy (something we knew for a long time).
