Darnold > Prescott

Nailed it. Darnold was the #3 overall pick and kept getting many chances because he has talent.

Dak...not so much. The only idiot in town who keeps paying Dak top dollar is Jerry. Even Jimmy said he wouldn't have paid Dak. Easiest call in the last 5 years IMO.
Tapping again lol

This is Football Math at it's finest, and the funniest part is you posted this after Darnold's 17-pass victory against San Fransico when the defense held SF to 6 points and their 2-headed monster running game pounded the rock for 175 yards and 3 TDs. Must of been Darnold balling out!

The 2025-26 Seattle Seahawks defense is ranked as the best unit in the NFL, having finished the regular season leading the league in points allowed (17.1 per game). Under head coach Mike Macdonald, the unit also ranked first in defensive DVOA and allowed the sixth-fewest total yards per game (285.6).
Key details on the 2026 Seahawks defense:
  • Scoring Defense: Ranked #1 in the NFL, allowing 17.1 points per game.
  • Total Defense: Ranked 6th in fewest yards allowed per game (285.6).
  • Run Defense: Ranked 1st in yards per rush allowed and opponent success rate (34%).
  • Key Personnel/Stats: Led the league in third-down defense. They utilized nickel/dime packages on over 90% of snaps.
  • Performance: Consistently ranked #1 in defensive DVOA and served as the cornerstone for their 2025 season success.
Not to mention: Seattle's rushing attack was a core part of the offense, which finished the season as a top-10 unit in total yards.

#1 defense + top 10 rushing attack + #1 WR in NFL ≠ Darnald > Dak

Do you think Seattle's defensive performance might have anything to do with Seattle's success, or it this really just a Dak vs Sam conversation?

Do you think Sam Darnold would have had a winning season this year with Dallas' 4th worst ALL-TIME defense?

Just wondering if you factor any of that in to your basesless argument?

Seattle Seahawks Team > Dallas Cowboys Team - I'll def buy that.
Preach StarW preach!!!! The Darnold/Prescottt argument makes no sense.....absolutely none. Our D couldn't stop a cold this year, even if you gave them Mucinex, Tylenol, DayQuil, NyQuil, a warm room, a warm blanket or chicken noodle soup.

Seattle is better than Dallas. Much better. That’s why they are in the SB. Dak has disappointed in big spots more than once and is in no way an elite QB. But he is better than Darnold. Dak is good, Darnold is above average. Seattle has a great defense and is a deep, solid team all around. Hopefully that can be us soon.

The reason they have a good defense is they aren't paying their QB 60 mil a year and having to have 2 no 1 receivers to make his stats sing.

Darnold was awesome in that game last night! The way he led his team to victory was something Prescot struggles at. When the bright lights are on, Prescot melts before our eyes. Darnold got off some nice passes while he was under major duress, whereas Prescot would have thrown a pick and it would have been season over for the Cowboys..........
Stevie Wonder can see this. The same people who admit Dak is overpaid also claim Dak doesn't have enough support. Darnold got #1WRs and took his teams to 14 win seasons and a SB. Dak...CHOKES.

That’s not why. Look at their players. All homegrown. They had some great drafts and hit on some acquisitions. You guys do this every year look for an excuse to give Jerry on why this team is where it’s at. The proof is there. Did you know prior to this year Dak never had a cap hit over 30 million?

Future cap hits must be considered when deciding who to keep and who to let go. Dlaw looks pretty good. Slightly better than Fowler and Sam Williams. Too bad we had to let him go because it was our quarterbacks turn to get paid for the brotherhood. Apparently he is so great despite years of inflation and increasing caps he somehow is still the highest paid. At least we can go back and bask in past glory. 2 in a row vs San Fran and then the GB fiasco.

See...that's your problem. You view football decisions through a "culture" lense...which makes you an activist not an analyst. Wrong sport and wrong uniform.

To be sure, you're equally clumsy at both...but...
They are both relevant in this discussion because you hate your own culture so your opinion is irrelevant on this matter. If I want your opinion on Baker Mayfield and Daniel Jones I’d ask because I know who you are.

So you think they let D Law go because they had to pay Dak despite them right after giving raises to Bland, Tyler Smith and Ferg….than trading for Clark who has a 22 million dollar cap hit and then taking on Quinnen Williams deal?

You see what I’m saying? Jerry and Stephen have tricked you into this pie. Stephen thinks this fanbase is stuoid when talking about pie and some are believing it.

Yep, but that's a post I was going to write actually, but it's just time consuming.

I can make the arguement that Darnold's Contract > Dak's Contract for the team, becasue is objective reality, but that's a different set of logic than we're discussing here.

We're just discussing the absurdity that Darnold > Dak based on team performance as if have the best defense in football, the best WR1, and a top 10 rushing attack featuring 2 backs has nothing to do with it.

Dak's greed is what's causing our defensive problems. This is the real conversation. Stafford > Prescott and plays for 20 million less a year and made the playoffs. Darnold plays for 33 million a year, rougyly half of what Prescott makes.

We can talk about how that's why we are missing a handful of starters on defense, becuase all the money we need to sign them is going in to Dak's new crib.

Dak has no one to blam but himself for being a loser, but we need a new thread so we can all state the obvious about it: We suck because we can't afford to field an adept defense. Best we can do is hire some defensive matermind to scheme around the lacking talent. :flagwave:

Right? You just can't overcome Eberflus defense even with the best offense in the league. We just figured that out. LOL

I'm mad a Dak, too, but just because he won't take the Brady route and adjust his contract to win. He's already filthy rich.

I can't say someone so greedy deserves a winning team. Adjust that contract or tell the truth when you're up on that podium.

"I, Dak Prescott value being filthy rich and protecting the botherhood over winning and the quality of my actual team mates."

I'm cool with that. Darnold greed < Prescott or Darnold's desire to win < Dak's desire to win. But these arguments are grounded in reality.

But Darnold > Prescott since Seattle > Dallas is just silly, since to make that argument you're disrespecting the #1 defense in the NFL that allows 17 points a game and giving the credit to a game manager while you're at it.
