Goodell: I'm amazed at how good our officials are (Read Post 75)

What about the CTE issue which he navigated the league thru a settlement with former players for 700+ million which basically prevented a lawsuit from threatening the league .

And then led the league with stricter rules on head trauma . If such action hadn’t been implemented along with lawsuit settlement it’s likely Congress was willing to step in threatening the NFL’s solvency within Anti Trust laws which is the platform for the leagues success.

The NFL has been making changes in health management since the league started ....... trying to give him credit for that is lazy considering they paid off former players with 700+ million.

Try again ....... bring up covid next time :muttley:

Well, as I said later, they don't want total accuracy either because controversy sells. But this simple system I mentioned could be instituted effortlessly into the game. The system could spit out a spot and radio directly into a ref's earpiece or a guy in the booth to relay it immediately for the spot. They could have it before the pile unravels on the field. Fans would still complain and they'd have their controversy anyway but it's cheaper not to do it and still have it, lol.
The league was very successful before we had instant replay review. Which I support to overturn obviously blatant calls which impact result of the game , especially in waning moments .

It’s all gone too far. And slowed the flow of the game.

Fans are always going to complain. About everything. It’s just their nature .

Nothing had ever threatened the league as the CTE lawsuit.

While he is probably betting on outcomes from his lifetime private jet…..

Goodell has created an NFL that I no longer watch much of. If it weren't for my sunk cost fallacy Cowboys fandom I wouldn't even watch the NFL anymore at all.

Sure ........ all the strikes ........ all the deaths ........ all the illegal drugs and "white houses"

It was the CTE lawsuit that almost killed the league.

Yes , it was the greatest legal threat ever to the league.

Outside of player conduct, Goodell is also known for his work in the 2011 NFL lockout. Prior to the start of the 2011 NFL season, Goodell worked with NFL ownersand the NFLPA on settling the NFL lockoutwhich ran from March 11 to August 5. During the lockout, at the request of some NFL teams, he held conference calls with season ticket holders where he discussed the collective bargaining agreement and conducted question-and-answer sessions on various NFL topics.

Goodell has had to make so many disciplinary decisions which has kept the league out of more legal lawsuits from other activist groups .

The Personal Conduct Policy provided disciplinary action that provided the league to navigate thru players DV which shunned the league casting a poor image.

And his disciplinary actions against teams like the Saints and Patriots helped maintain the integrity of the league .

Goodell has been a strong figure and force who represents the interest of the owners.

Yea ...... you are the only one who sees his true genius.
Anyone able to separate their emotions and detach their fandoms priority will support what his leadership has meant and done for league with majority support of ownership. And history will reflect as such .

And I’d argue the owners fully appreciate .

Sure Goodell fan ..... we totally believe you

Gaslighting at its finest
Provide some evidence against how much the league has grown and profited while navigating thru these issues.

All I hear is complaining about officiating .
Sour grapes .
