AD's contract was a bottom 10 contract in the entire league. He was a sunk asset with his injuries and salary.

Getting even marginal picks helps you facilitate trades and under the new CBA being over the aprons make trades very difficult.

Last off-season a lot of good RFA just signed the proffered deal because no one had any cap space to sign them outright.

The new CBA is working a lot more like a hard cap than the NBA was used to.

Dallas finally flushed the awful Nico plan and are building around Flagg.

Mavs fans can return to the flock now. Flagg is an awesome watch and will only get better.

Acquiring for 2nds is more common now since teams are more hesitant to gamble on big contracts. But aquiring 1sts for contracts is still in play if a team is motivated to move a contract enough

At a low cost could be a sneaky good trade for a team looking for some scoring juice off bench in the playoffs. Especially for 5th seed to play in teams that might have rotation spots open
