Mixed signals continue as to whether Myles Garrett could be traded

That’s never made sense to me. If you can trade the ‘higher one’, you can also trade the ‘lower one’. If it’s designated in the terms of one trade, it can also be designated in the other.

I’d have to think it could be written into the trade agreement. If you can do it for one pick, you have to be able to do it for the other.

I think they will also. I can see GB taking a step back this year.
They lost 4 players in FA, a few of them starters on defense and some depth players. And Gary to us in the trade.
Traded away WR depth too.

So if you trade one with the stipulation of "we'll give you the better one" then trade the other one, that other one might turn out to be the better one you promised to another team. So once you tie them both together, they should both be frozen to prevent the original trade-to team from getting shafted.

I’ve already heard rumors about a potential draft day trade with Cleveland. It was mentioned as picks 12 and 20 for picks 6 and 39.

This got me thinking of something.

What about 12 and 20 - and next year’s remaining 1st rounder - for #6 and Myles Garrett?

You could get a top player for the secondary at #6 (Downs, Delane) AND shore up your pass rush with the best in the business.

The downside is that you’d be out of next year’s 1st round, which is being regarded as one of the very best in recent years.

Cleveland would be adding three 1st round picks over the next two years for their rebuild.

What say you?

I’m curious to hear how many holes you feel the team would still have?

To me, if they can fill a need on the pass rush (Garrett), secondary (Downs, Delane), and linebacker (Brooks), you’ve filled your biggest holes.

That's true. The only thing I can think of is that they're trying to prevent 2 or more teams from colluding or competing to make their pick position better by losing to opponents, etc. since the picks are tied to one another?

They obviously want to trade him. Absolutely no reason to keep a 31 year old player on an underperforming team.
