Stephen: Nobody has called interested in trading for Pickens

I think you are constantly moving the goal posts. I wonder if you are trolling us
This is what people say when they know they are wrong lol.

The price is set at two firsts. Dallas can negotiate down if they want. There is no scenario in which Pickens agrees to a contract that Dallas won't match AND where they trade him for significantly less than two firsts.

What would be less than two first round picks but not significantly less than two first round picks? Asking for a friend.

You are the one who brought up a second round pick. I showed you that Adams returned a 1st and 2nd.

You have gone from “Players do not get traded in this context, ever” to “yea but no team will do it”. I never said whether it would or wouldn’t happen, just that it can and has numerous times.
Not comparable in a lot of ways.

The Packers were way over the cap and HAD to trade him.
Clark wasn't going to sign the tag.

Neither of those apply to Dallas.

Any trade would be contingent on the receiving team resigning him. Similar to how the Parsons trade worked out
DUH. Not sure why everyone and their mother feels the need to say that.

That is exactly why there are no trade offers lol

Just give it up my guy. Sometimes the best approach is to stop digging.

You started with players do not get traded in this context ever.
Then to teams lose contract leverage (silly because the contract would be worked out prior to the trade). They are free to walk any time.
Then OK but those players had no value.
To OK but Davante was different because of stuff.

As far as your insulation from a trade comment, that is rather obvious outside of an offer sheet. Dallas can choose whether they want to negotiate with another team or not. The only way another team can force Dallas’ hand is through an offer sheet.

The draft is pretty rich with WR talent as well, so top teams looking to fill a void can likely find one without having to dive too deep in Rd 1 for them

...even if they called who is practically better than Pickens, for counter offer?
You're not replacing him with a draft pick, I hope anyway. Flournoy will be WR2 in 2026 if he's traded. The ONLY way I'd want a trade will be for a high (top 6) 1st round draft pick, minimum.

There are many examples of non exclusive tagged players being traded. Typically the acquiring team just works out the parameters of a deal and negotiates with the trading team on compensation. Once the trade is made, the player quickly signs the new contract. Offer sheets don’t happen much anymore because teams aren’t willing to give up 2 firsts as compensation.
I wouldn’t be surprised to find out Dallas has put out the word that they won’t take less than two firsts.

They never intended to extend him
They never intended to trade him
They just want him to play on the tag

It’s the same reason they won’t talk to his agent. They knew before the season ended exactly what they were going to do and now they’re doing it.

It was obvious to many of us.

If someone signs him and Dallas doesn’t match they must give up 2 1 s

But CZ homers tell me we should pay him 35 million per year

If he is truly elite talent at WR and is not a headcase teams with 25-30 picks like KC or a team like NE with a high 2 and 3 should definitely be asking but theyre not

Because they know he is a headcase and will become an even bigger problem once he is paid

You do not pay players like Pickens long term
