Schlereth: Cowboys are the frontrunner to win their division

No he wasn't but that's quite the about face without seeing the product on the field
But, it's not. Man, all you have to do is peruse the acquisitions, and it's just so blatantly clear that we will be better on D.

I'm hopeful for the Cowboys to get lucky for a change, but the past gives pause for future proof to come each and every year. The truth is sure to be revealed in due time. The number of changes give pause to realize progress will be a gradual process in the days ahead. Let's be patient. It's destined to take time and lots of it. Let's be prepared to keep our expectations realistic. CP has a demanding job to handle.

Of course. However, Jerry has been different since the GB playoff loss. And the player acquisitions are completely different this offseason. And I mean not even in the same ballpark. These were similar to the Tuna acquisitions. So, realistically: This D will be much much better. I see zero reasons to not think so.

It won’t be the Giants at the top this year. Not sure who their backup QB is, but he’s going to be needed and soon.

He is not saying we will be "bettter", he claims contenders. This clown was all over Sport talk last year, going out of his way to try to look smart and join the crowd against Jerry and the team. It's way too early to go two-faced, let alone claim we are frontrunners because on paper, we are better. Every team but the Iggles in the East look better on paper.....

I think Shelton's movement skills have been overrated, in that he looks too sluggish to qualify for LT in pro football. I suspect he's far better suited to serve as a RT, instead. We'll see very soon about that. Perhaps good coaching could help, but I have serious doubts about that issue with him. I'll also hope our injury problems don't reappear quite as much as they did in 2025. They tend to persist.

I don't understand giving them credit before we even see anything. I like a lot of the moves that we made, but who knows how it is going to work out. Maybe we closed the gap, maybe we didn't.
Some fans take is as giving them credit or whatever. Others see the potential of what is there. Therefore make some educated comments.
Except Cowturd and SAS, they are just idiots.

Why don't some fans on here like when the media or even former players gives them props.

He must have a lot more confidence in our OTs than I do. I don't see Steele and Guyton dominating anybody.

He calls Dallas frontrunners. I don't consider that an educated comment. I consider it feeding chum to the masses to draw them in.

I have no problem with anyone giving Dallas props for the moves they made to get better on defense. We don't know how they will work out, but at least they are throwing some darts. But to say they have made themselves a contender or a frontrunner coming off a losing season is just trying to get attention.

Talking heads are interested in sound bites, though. Saying that maybe Dallas has done enough to put itself in contention in the division won't get you very many clicks.

Ah, contenders. That's a horse of a different color.

That is the polar opposite of what the scouts say. Where did you get that info?

"Shelton's hoops background shows in his foot speed and fluid lateral movements. He possesses the "basketball feet" to mirror twitchy rushers and the arm length to keep them away."

Exact opposite. I haven't heard that he has sluggish feet. Shelton's basic problem is that he needs to gain strength. Some meanness wouldn't hurt.
