Cowboys fans hit with major price increase attending AT&T

In 2018 I took my (then) 89 year old father-in-law to a Cowboys home game at AT&T with one of my sons, brother-in-law, and nephew. It was a bad experience.

My father-in-law, a Korean War veteran, was in a wheelchair. The Cowboys website designated an area where fans who need assistance could be dropped off. We went to that exact spot, and police would not let us drop him off there.

So we had to park far away from the stadium at a rip-off price, push him nearly a half a mile in a wheelchair (in Dec), and once we got to our seats, we were not allowed to fold the wheelchair and place it behind his seat. (We were in a section where this was the last row so there was no one behind us)

An usher told me we would have to seat my FIL, take his wheelchair to “Guest Services” on a level below us, far from our seats. So this 89 year old man had to have his wheelchair put away somewhere else. To take him to the restroom, we had to go get his chair, bring it back to pick him up, take him to the RR, then return him to his seat, then return the chair to Guest Services.

It was ridiculous.

Then after the game we had to go get his chair, bring it back, walk him a half a mile back to the car in the cold. We were then stuck in the poorly planned traffic pattern after the game for nearly an hour.

The Cowboys did win that day, beating the Tampa Bay Bucs. But it was otherwise a ridiculously bad experience for the price, hassle and headache.

I came away with a simple two word decision about AT&T: NEVER AGAIN.

It’s not about ignorance. It’s about affordability.
It's definitely about ignorance. Someone would have to be a outright moron to pay Jerry for the pleasure of seeing the inferior product he has put on the field for 3 decades. Anyone who continues to fall for the annual okie doke deserves to be squeezed out of every penny they earn.

The Cowboys return to the field Saturday night against the defending Super Bowl champion Seahawks , but fans planning a trip to AT&T Stadium this season could face a significantly higher bill.

A new analysis estimates that a family of four attending a Cowboys game in 2026 could spend $1,685.15 for tickets, food, drinks and parking. That’s an 18.6% increase from the estimated $1,421.31 cost in 2025.

The increase follows significant upgrades to AT&T Stadium ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup and a new long-term agreement that will keep the Cowboys in Arlington through at least 2055.

Yeah. That is what happens.

Y'all made that happen.

Own it.

And it has nothing to do with World Cup costs. That is inflation. Own it.

Wake me up, Jerry and Stephen are in my fever dream and the Cowboys Stadium is in Abu Dhabi.

Shameless.

LMAO @ the thought of Jerry watering down all his liquors to save money! :lmao: Good story on your first impressions.

Let's be honest. Most of us would have a blast! The truth really is that most folks are just too broke or in debt these days to afford any pro-sport that wants to charge thousands a pop, even for the bad seats. And that's just if you're local. And we seem to be on pace for more years of better affordable TVs for any home theater that get better ever year at improved visual quality of each live game. And here's the deal clincher. Economy getting grim, gas through the roof, what has this team done to earn my money? They've been almost the worst playoff team in the NFL for 30 years. Yeah, sorry dudes, you're dropping on the priority list!
Crazy thing is...I got pictures to prove it. Game was vs Seattle...Xmas eve...was basically a playoff game...and you could tell right away we were gonna get beat just from watching the pre-game warm ups. Have never seen a team so unprepared. Everyone was out there doing their own thing. Guy here...stretching...Guy over there...stretching...few guys in a group BSing...You could just tell this team wasn't ready to compete. Sad

Didn’t say you did.
Right. You said this:
Talking about 60-80k people, most are NOT white collars or attending with free tickets. Majority are blue collar folks who just have questionable financial priorities JMO.
..after I said:
Individuals' disposable income is not uniform across the entire ticket-buyer market. Stadiums are filled with people who either sacrifice and splurge, budget carefully, or have incomes that easily absorb entertainment costs. Add that last group with the x-number of folks who are often professional white-collar employees gifted with corporate-purchased tickets as perks, and you are left with a significant segment of attendees who could not care less how much their day at the stadium costs.
^ Everything in bold is equivalent to "Talking about 60-80k people". I simply broke down the 60-80k people in the stadium as the makeup of everyone in attendance. You differentiated the attendees using 'most' and 'majority' even though I did not say 'most are white collar' and 'the majority are blue collar'. That was the reason for my reply.

Sports have priced me out. I’m frivolous to a certain extent but the prices they are asking are just beyond what I’m willing to pay to watch.
Same.

That’s insane for one game. It would cost me $2,000 on tickets alone to take the family based on that. Tickets for all sports have increased greatly.

Not even 20 years ago, I think I was paying $50 for season tickets (granted, we got a deal as students) for our school’s basketball team, which was a helluva deal to watch Big East basketball. And going to NBA games, I think, was $20-$30 and a bunch of us would do that twice a year when the Bulls were in town. Even as broke college students, we could afford that.
