I get that, but I’m not sure it’s less about overpaying and more about poor allocation in general. For example, we don’t pay Pickens, historically that would usually mean that we just sit on that money instead of getting better value talent. We’ve tried to bargain bin shop and failed.
Additionally, I’ll point to a specific example of the cheapness was Derrick Henry. Would’ve cost us 8-9m, well below how much we had available. Had some career years since. Long story short, combination of overpaying the wrong talent but more so being cheap when we shouldn’t have been.

Taking him off lets you spend on FA's and improve the roster making it a better team.

That's why every penny that is paid out to players is of great concern to fans. Pay the wrong guy and it costs you dearly.

With Prescotts injury history, he hasn’t gone consecutive seasons without an injury in 10 years, I’d keep Howell too who at least has some NFL experience and looks to be a steadier hand.

Yes, Milton is there til 2027 but the decision on Dak is before the 2027 season. So, before you make the decision on Dak, you need to know what you have in Milton.

That means you give him as much garbage time as you possibly can this year!

Hopefully Schotty can over-rule Jerry about it.

It's my opinion Jerry wants Dak to have stats. The last game of last year is the shining examle of it.

I've been saying all along I my statements you know they go on check sometimes because I make long winded posts and I ramble on i've been saying Sam's gonna be the QB2 the whole time this is who you go to in long relief like Cooper Rush Now if the season's over and there's a lot of games left to play you give Milton all those opportunities but you keep 3 if Pittsburgh can keep 4 I think the Cowboys can find a way to keep all three I mean we need the emergency quarterback anyway but if you have to keep them active or protected on the practice squad I believe you can you can't just get robbed of every guy I forget how it works..


I've been saying the same thing about Barham all along I love to do but he's a inconsistent rookie with a groin injury that's not in game shape and he's playing behind a bunch of spare parts that were not keeping him clean last night but he was never gonna be starting I don't care what you think of winters and overshown that you don't think they're big enough to play middle linebacker but they are they will be the two starting off the ball linebackers for the Dallas Cowboys from majority of the year and Barham will earn his reps but yes we're back to Milton was definitely got happy feet last night He was smelling his own scent for a little while and he was throwing the ball like he has in the past that's what happens you revert back you you would never get fully over bad technique until you just keep doing it like we seen Sam Darnold do And some other quarterbacks who found their way back they they they'll figure it out but he is not the answer right now

Yes!! Milton has shown signs with Patriots, us last year somewhat, and now, consistently in camp and pre season.. I'll be honest, I'm very very intrigued by Milton, he seems like a level headed guy with some serious talent who is growing quickly with good coaching. I'll be honest, if Dak doesn't elevate the team this season when it matters, especially if the defense steps it up, I think it might be time to part ways with Dak and give the reins over to Milton. I have to say, I'm a Dak fan, but I'm realistic in my expectation on what I've seen from him, at this point in time I feel like Dak's mental makeup is a bit shaky and he does indeed fold under the bright lights, so I worry about the Dak effect in the playoffs, so until he proves otherwise, he is not a playoff dog...

I find Dak a very unique player in the fact that when things are going well, he is machine like, but that Deer in the headlights look he gets when his brain gets scrambled is worrysome.

So I think you'll get it at some point but people need to stop with the He's the future he's gonna replace Prescott prescott should look over his shoulder yeah the only thing Prescott looks over his shoulder for is for these dudes to hand him a towel when he comes off the field so he can wipe his sweat off..

That's the disrespect for years now it was Cooper rush is better than Prescott in games he can run the offense better no he can't he made all the mistakes he looked like a backup he will always be a backup and so will Milton until he proves otherwise..

Partly his arm but I think the bigger draw is mobility in the pocket and making plays out of the pocket. Look at Josh Allen and Mahommes - not really hyped because of their pocket passing but more because of their playmaking ability. That is what the NFL looks for these days!

Milton had a lot of pressure last night...had to get out of the pocket frequently. He'll have to get a bit better at hitting the receivers afterword.

I don't know man, sometimes rookies get thrown into the fire and grow on the job, kind of like Eli, or even Dak himself... All I know is I see Milton with the tools to take over at some point for Dak, he has the drive as well to be great as far as I can see... Just like what some of the broadcaster say, howell has a low floor, milton has a high ceiling... I would gamble on Milton two years from now.
