What Kind of Sense Does This Make?

Did you read the "Romo Hall of Fame" blog? First off, I said I would take Rodgers over Romo. But to say he's just so much better than Romo that it's laughable is just not true. Romo has put up ludicrous stats too -- and has done so with a non-existent running game and zero pass protection too.

I don't know about that. I think the general feeling about the Cowboys outside of this fan base is the talent is overrated. Not that they don't live up to their talent.

It's pretty alarming to see this kind of thread where there's a collective scoff over the Packers being better. Uh, they are.

Quite honestly, I think the Cowboys will have a better record than the Packers this year.

Rodgers is unanimously rated as a top 2 or so QB..

Romo is rated borderline 10ish...and that's on the high side!

There is no comparison

Where should the Packers be rated?

Where should the Boys be rated?

I'd have the Packers in the top 8 and the Cowboys somewhere in the 14-18 area.

So this ranking isn't ridiculous to me. I even agree with the comment. He's a goner after this year.

To say that Romo is borderline 10ish is just total ignorance. Stats wise, he is among the top five all time in a number of significant categories. But yes, let's put our head in the sand and say that "he doesn't win the big games." Because football is an individual sport, you know. Eli doesn't even come close to Romo when it comes to passing efficiency or any other notable stat, other than the fact that he's got two SB titles. That is not an indication of the stats being wrong, it's an indication that football is a team sport and Eli has had a far better defense and running game to rely on.

It's nothing but pure conjecture, however, IMHO had Tony Romo played for Mike McCarthy over the past 6 seasons instead of Parcells, Wade, Garrett you'd would have seen Romo consistently in the 100s for QB rating.

You want to go by stats. Lets go by stats. Go ahead and SHOW ME where romos stats are deemed close to Rodgers.

Garrett. I believe so. He's the next set of deck chairs to get shuffled.

If they miss the playoffs the owner has to sell his fans on 2014. He can't do that with the same head coach. He ran his own offense. He delegated that. He had heavy input into his staff. We switched defensive schemes and coordinators. Nothing left to do than blame the head coach and move on to the next guy.

Yeah, I'm not gonna argue that Rodgers is the king -- but Romo being borderline top ten is ridiculous. You don't have to knock Romo to build up Rodgers, like GloryDaysRBack is doing. And as the past couple of years have shown us, you DO need more than Rodgers and some very good receivers to win. And I think they have even less of those other things now. We'll see.

I think barring a total collapse that you are very wrong about this. But my opinion means no more than yours does. Hopefully we win and we don't find out who was right and who was wrong on this particular point.

4395 39 and 8 with a 108 rating with 259 rushing yards to boot

Vs

4903 28 and 19 with a 90.5 rating

You think this argument is close? Lololol.

11 MORE touchdowns - 11 LESS ints. It doesn't get any FARTHER away than that. Give it a rest

Nowhere in my post did I say I rated romo borderline top 10..I said the consensus on him was borderline top 10

The only thing working in Garrett's favor is Jerry is comfortable with him. He poses no threat.

But I still say he's the next scapegoat when/if we fail to make the playoffs this year.

It is obvious that you really don't care for Romo the player. I respect the fact that you think Rogers is a better player and understand how you would come to that conclusion. He is a really good player. There is no disputing that fact. I'm not sure that there is much, if any difference between the two though. Right now, I think most people would objectively rank Rogers higher than Romo, but that doesn't mean that Romo won't outperform Rogers this season.

And to really shake up this thread, the Packers are about to sign Vince Young.

If Jerry is comfortable with him,(which I agree with you it appears he does) then he probably stays. LOL I am not saying it is outside the realm of possibility that Garrett gets fired after this season. But I think the odds on it happening as we speak is about 5 to 1 against him getting the axe.

I think very highly of romo. Very. I like him a lot. It doesn't mean I'm foolish enough to think he's in Rodgers' class, because he absolutely is not...and it's not close.
