I'm on my phone so can't cut and paste but broaddus has a tweet up on the mother ship that Leary is running fine and thinks there will be no issue with him starting week one.

In not surprised by that if they were honest about being a normal scope.

He also said Ratliff looked great running 40 yard sprints in camp.

BryanBroaddus: Just an observation, Ronald Leary is running well with the other offensive linemen. He will not play but don't see issues here.

I take it that means tonight (no, duh), but it's not referring to week 1.

many of us assumed Leary would play opening night, this is a good sign

Great news.

He was looking good before he scope and it will be great to have him solidify the LG position.

I still think it will be Smith, Leary, Frederick, Bernadeau and Free. Free at guard seems to be a contingent plan in case Leary wasn't gonna be ready for week 1 IMO.

I disagree. JG was too excited about Free at guard for it to simply be a "contingency plan." Bern will be the swing guard, which is the proper spot for him.

And you may be right.

But the current combination of Free at guard and a gimpy Parnell at RT scares me.

Agreed, I saw nothing from Parnell last week that led me to be confident in him be the starting RT come WK 1. I much rather "risk" it with Bern at RG and Free at RT.
