If Jerry did in fact say that the Cowboys losing isn't a reason to stop coming to the games, he is implying that winning is secondary to the "entertainment factor."

So the team's owner doesn't want fans to stop attending games even if the team's losing? THE NERVE!!!!!!!

It's just Jerry the salesman selling the positive points of game attendance even if the team's losing. Quite a reach to say he's implying that "winning is secondary".

And for the record, we're 5-2 at home this year. Not like we're regularly stinking up the joint at home.

There isn't an owner in all of pro sport that would have responded to questions of fan apathy with: "Not with games like the other day. That's a show!" .....a little over a day after a devastating last minute loss in a tight playoff run. It just smacks of arrogance and indifference to the followers of the team he owns.

that is actually one of the more delusional interviews you will hear in your life

the utter calm and assurance with which he answers those questions and the contents of those answers tell you that he actually believes what he is saying and is completely disconnected from reality

i believe the inscription on top of his door reads

"lose all hope ye, who enter here"

I hate Jerry with all my heart and soul and think he's taken something very precious to me and ruined it.

But he didn't say what the OP said he said. He lives it with his actions every day, but it's not what he said.

He is literally holding the Cowboys hostage.

The NFL should step in and force this guy to find a proper GM.

He really is.

Jerry Jones has taken one of the most treasured, beloved things in my life and abused it for his own personal gain. As someone else said, he's treated it like a cheap *****. He doesn't care one ounce about the fans or the storied history or any of the things that we love about this franchise. He only cares about using the franchise for his own benefit; to make him rich, powerful, and famous. He is the scum of the earth.

This is such bs. That RJ Choppy and that crap on the Fan is completely spinning what he said. I can't believe you are falling for this crap. I'm as sick of Jerry as the next Cowboy fan but what is being reported isn't what he said.

So it is the "evil media" at work again?

Great. Good to know.

And think of what this thought process does on draft day. The "Big Uglies"? Sorry, not entertaining enough. CB's, WR's, TE's....flash baby....flash......Trade up, trade down, trade draft picks. It doesn't matter because he's a wildcatter and it's exciting and leaves the fan base talking. He's not building a team. He has no vision to build a team nor a concept of how to do it because he never has. He's building a marketable product because there are fans that have accepted that way of doing businesses and defend him until their last breath. He's a pathetic joke and we disrespect Al Davis by even comparing Jerry to the man in black.[/quote]

I've never understood the comparisons to Al Davis either. Davis was a coach and scout long before running the Raiders. He also had a really remakable run with the Raiders for 25-30 years. You can criticize his last decade, but he's forgotten more about football than Jones will ever know.

If Jerry said that, he does not care. It's time to stop supporting this team financially until he steps down from his GM duties or he hires a real coach like Bill Parcells. I'm just waiting to hear him say that changes are coming, knowing that he is going to stay as a General Manager.

Why does he care when opponents fans buy tickets...he gets the $$$

Are there any other NFL teams where the owner is the GM?

there are 4 teams in recent memory that have so called "meddlesome owners"

cowboys
raiders
Commanders
bengals

not select company you want to be in

the futility index for this list is not 90% or 99%, it is 100%

also, remember, that al davis forgot more about football than jerry remembers on his best day

that part where he talks about how even if he hired a GM...he'd have to have a say.

Face it, nothing will change with this organization until Jerry Jones is dead... and even then there's Stephen.

I stopped listening after 4 minutes. My main point of contention in listening to this BS is that Jerry continues to make excuses and I hear no anger in his voice. I know he's a salesman, but at this point, show a little emotion - your team just got the **** kicked out of it, in large part due to your coaches.

I couldn't make a minute, once he said NE coming back from 21 points down is a good thing. Then he had the nerve to say these games hurt the fans who he is responsible for.

I can only think of one time where that had happened, and that was with the Giants in 1979. And that was only due to the fact that the two owners of the team, Wellington Mara and his nephew Tim, we're not on speaking terms, and did not agree on a hire. The league stepped in, and had them hire George Young.

Al Davis lost his mind at the end, probably started the year he drafted a kicker in the middle of the first round. He should have hung it up after that. But the guy started from the bottom and worked his way up the coaching ranks and then bought the team. Pretty incredible story.
