there are 4 teams in recent memory that have so called "meddlesome owners"

cowboys
raiders
Commanders
bengals

not select company you want to be in

the futility index for this list is not 90% or 99%, it is 100%

also, remember, that al davis forgot more about football than jerry remembers on his best day

Yes I agree. I knew at one time Al was a real " football guy" & coach.

With Jerry it's apparent it's just his monster ego. LOOK AT ME!

I can only think of one time where that had happened, and that was with the Giants in 1979. And that was only due to the fact that the two owners of the team, Wellington Mara and his nephew Tim, we're not on speaking terms, and did not agree on a hire. The league stepped in, and had them hire George Young.

The league would probably have a good laugh about us crying about being .500 and controlling our destiny, toss the request in the trash and get back to work fining linebackers for clean hits.

This surprises people? THere are actually people out there who don't realise that Jerry doesn't care as long as he's making money?

If you really don't reconize that fact then you're either blind or you just don't care, at all, to pay attention.

Comments like this are absolutely not surprising with this clown.

Why are we even Cowboys fans at this point? In all seriousness, what is it about the Cowboys that we like? Other than past history and the star on the helmet.

I like them because my dad raised me to but I can't imagine too many kids growing into football likes & dislikes would. Unless it's a family thing. Or a city thing. I never see kids in Cowboys gear.

Me too, never see kids in Cowboys gear. I live in WNY but there's tons of Cowboys fans out here, everywhere. No one shows it anymore. 40 years from now will we still be the most famous team in the NFL?

Disagree.

IF he truly wanted to win he'd do what even the common fan knows he should do. He won't.

Big difference between not doing it and not knowing how to do it.

The ego eccentric in him won't allow it................at the expense of us fans. He, of course, has nothing to lose.

If you're saying that JJ only seems interested in winning on his own terms, I agree.

I hate Jerry with all my heart and soul and think he's taken something very precious to me and ruined it.

But he didn't say what the OP said he said. He lives it with his actions every day, but it's not what he said.
Yes he did say it. listen and get out of denial about what Jerry said. Shan and RJ heard it, and they agree with me and what i heard.they did the interview. you saying they are lying too?

He did not say that winning is secondary, I happen to know that winning is very very important to him

Reads more like the OP is using the context of the statement to make a solid inference. If Jerry did in fact say that the Cowboys losing isn't a reason to stop coming to the games, he is implying that winning is secondary to the "entertainment factor." Does everything have to be spelled out or stated letter for letter or is it actually possible to infer things by using common sense? Or is that not cool these days?
Thank you. +1000.

He's made a mess of his own agenda.
Even if he wins a Superbowl in the near future- nobody will give him credit for it.

People will assume they won it despite him, which would be most likely true.

He'll never get the credit he so desperately desires.

Jerry wasn't upset about that game because he's a closet cheesehead. I know that because several posters made me a pic with Jerry wearing a cheese wedge. It's on this board somewhere. Haha.

That goes without saying.

He won't change that, which means winning is indeed secondary and not nearly as important.

This has been a very entertaining thread.

Needless to say, it looks like the fandom is at a cross roads.

There are things being said in this thread that would have at the very least caused a severe beatdown from the majority of posters here just a few years ago, even though the circumstances really are not a lot that different. Jerry Jones is just a little more emboldened and says things a little differently, which I guess matters.

We might disagree on some parts of the Cowboys but I think most do agree about Jerry Jones.

If some people posted what they have posted on here a year or two ago, there would be a pretty solid chorus of boos and a lot more strident defenders of Jerry Jones.

Now you just have some of the same people quibbling about semantics and calling things "much ado about nothing" when really all he has said is the obvious--which is he wants to win but he does not care if you do not like the way he is going about it.
