It does happen all the time, sure does. But even if all that is forgiven what has JG done in three years to prove he has the ability to be an NFL HC?

Maybe there wasn't a thread on it because Harbaugh's not coach of the Cowboys.

Jeez this whining is ridiculous. Just because someone else sucks at time management doesn't mean Garrett doesn't also suck. Andy Reid's choke job last night doesn't make any of Garrett's feel any better.

I just enjoy pointing out the shortsightedness and hypocrisy of those who want to micro-critique every time they perceive Garrett has game management issues, and completely ignore the exact same issues (or even worse) from their heroes.

Garrett is awful and gives us no hope going forward.

I guess we as Cowboy fans are supposed to find comfort in other teams mistakes rather than hope our own coaches/players don't make them.
Did Dalton's INTs make any one feel better about Orton's against the eagles? According to this thread it should have,

Okay, so the 49ers botched clock management. I'm not sure how that relates to Garrett's problems. Is someone trying to justify it? Because Harbaugh botched something we are not supposed to complain about Assistant Coach Garrett's inadequacies? Lets not compare a head coach that has already been to a Super Bowl and is still alive this year to a coach that hasnt been to the playoffs, never mind a Super Bowl.
When Garrett gets his team to a Super Bowl, a lot of things will then be overlooked and accepted.

And how does this add to the "quality" of your post? This removes any credibility to me.

Nope, trying to point out it is a regular occurrence in the NFL. It happens to every coach in the NFL. Don't forget Andy Reid just the night before. It happens.

You are forgetting the Zone Rules:

There are no excuses unless we make them.

Mistakes only have relevance if they are made by Garrett. Perceived mistakes are even better.

Anyone pointing out any occurrence of the above shall be labeled a homer, kool aide drinking fool.

The definition of hypocrisy does not register when it involves Garrett.

Ignoring any questions that point out hypocrisy is required...also to be replied to with repeating hyperbolic statements about game and clock management and whenever possible use the phrase idiot HC.

I think the OP's point is that JG isn't the only coach in the league who has game/time management gaffes. The man is under such a microscope around here he is sometimes made out to be the worst HC in the league. Look at Reid last night, and Harbaugh today. JG isn't the only coach to fouls things up from time to time. IT HAPPENS.

If we burned a TO to start the 2nd half due to the QB not having his playsheet we'd never hear the end of how we're a bunch of amateurs who are so disorganized, have no discipline, etc etc blah blah blah.

But if another team does it, it ain't no thang. Know what I mean?

I was doing back flips when Cincy lost, because at least we have one more playoff win than them in the past 18 years!

That's because we don't care about other teams or other coaches. We care about the Dallas Cowboys and are tired of the same mistakes over and over. I would venture that the fans of the chiefs and Niners are just as upset with their coaches gaffes, especially when they have experienced, winning coaches.

No, it doesn't absolve Garrett, or make it feel any better. What it does is add a little perspective. If you don't realize that already then I doubt anyone here is going to able to explain it to you in a way that you understand.

As a Cowboy fan I want every coach we play to make those mistakes. Doesn't mean our staff should be untouchable when they make those mistakes. Especially because our coaches claim to fame is being a genius.

Yep, for listening to the fans, like many around here, who don't recognize this stuff happens all season long in the NFL. Andy Reid burned important timeouts at the end of the game last night in ways that the announcing crew were questioning. It happens all the time.

Jerry listens to the fans and is making his decisions based on us ? Somehow I highly doubt that.

No, I understand that Garrett isn't the only one that makes mistakes. The point is that Garrett's mistakes seem to happen way too often. That said, using a timeout before even running a play is pretty terrible. If they lose this game, 9ers fans will probably complain about it just as we would. The point is that it's not about "hypocrisy" or whatever people are going to whine about, it's because we're Cowboys fans and we care more about what the Cowboys players and coaches are doing.

There's no need to talk down to people, by the way.

I don't care about other teams' coaches either, and believe me, I don't want to see us make the same mistakes over and over again. But at the same time, watching and observing other teams, specifically these playoff teams, can add perspective. We have members of this fan base who literally act like Garrett's the worst coach in the league, and the only one to make these types of mistakes. In the last 2 days we watched 2 SB caliber coaches make AWFUL game management choices. It's not excusable, but it happens to the best of'em.

I don't think anyone is saying our staff should be untouchable when they make those mistakes. I think it's just more of an observation that we're not the only team or fan base that deals with it.
