Dalton is just a good QB and if you could upgrade from him you do it. If you can't then you're fine as well.

They should've done everything possible to keep Carson Palmer up there but instead they were so inept that now is the time that it's probably costing them a chance to win a Title.

hes been crap since the injury against the steelers like a decade ago

That crap QB very nearly helped Arizona get into the playoffs this year. If they weren't in the best division in football I think they'd have gotten in very easily. That Cards team, with that crap QB, would have KILLED the NFC East this year.

The guy had 24TDs and 22INTs. That's DREADFUL...a much more logical argument could be made that the Cards could have made the playoffs without him.

I suppose so. But they were winning with him, mostly due to a damn fine defense, but he still helped them win games. Helped them lose some as well.

bengals D gave up 127 less points than the cowboys D this year and literally had a better defensive qb rating than tony has ever had in the last 7 years

I agree on their D. The Cards are one of the team I said Romo should have held out for instead of re-signing here.

Dalton is an average QB, with a great defense to back him up. Enough for the bengals to win games when Dalton plays horrible. Romo is ALOT better imo, but Marvin Lewis is a terrible coach though.

I agree with you there. If Tony had done that I wouldn't have blamed him at all. With that defense and then having Fitz and now the other kid, his name is escaping me at the moment, to throw to that could have been a really good situation for him.

I'm thankful he didn't do that though. I know many here aren't but I couldn't care any less about that.

But therein lies the dilemma. Orton probably would have been better in that one game, but the Bengals would have been 6-10 with Orton as their starting QB. Dalton had 33 TD... it would have taken Orton two seasons to throw that many, and the Bengals aren't really good enough to win any other way.

Well aside from his rookie season, Orton has only been a starter in two-half years. In his best year he did only throw 21 td's....but also only nine Int's. Dalton threw 20 this season up from sixteen a year ago.
I take Orton over Dalton with those weapons, I bet you he could come very close to Dalton's numbers with less int's.

Romo is better than Dalton no question, but they have a similar problem in big games.

Both are born losers IMO. One may be a little more of a loser than the other but they both are choke artists.

Seriously, how far removed from the SB until Rodgers starts taking crap for his record/play in the playoffs?

Are you serious? The guy has WON a Super Bowl and carried that team through some AWFUL olines (far worse than Romo's), no running game and a roller coaster defense every season and missed the playoffs once.

I know you're a huge Romo supporter, but don't try to use Rodgers as an example of guys who need to be exposed in the name of choking. Romo and Rodgers have NOTHING in common when it comes to the art of the "choke".

I know he won a SB and I think he's one of the top 3 in the game. The fact remains though that outside of that one season, his playoff record is bad (if QBs are going to get stuck with the record) and he has been mediocre-bad in most of them outside the SB season. One SB ring shouldn't alleviate you from media BS forever.

rodgers defense during superbowl run was much better than tony has ever had.

doesnt mater if your last name is rodgers or manning or brady or brees, if your defense sucks you WILL NOT win the superbowl. some of our cowboy fans fail to realize that and think a rookie will somehow be better than those 4 names and take our team with garbage defense to the superbowl...

newsflash, rodgers peyton brady and brees have NEVER won a superbowl with a def qb rating over 80. tony has had 1 season with a def qb rating under 80 and we were 13-3..

Lewis is a superior head coach to Garrett IMO, so take that for what it is worth.

Dalton did not do himself any favors. He absolutely refused to own up to his three mistakes when questioned by reporters and got a little defensive actually. It will be interesting to see how it goes from here for him.
