Drafting Romo's replacement is moot.

Jerry gave him the extension and that pick is too valuable to spend on someone who will probably sit for two or three years.

The offense can compete as is, beef up the front 7 and get us at least a middle of the pack D and we are in it.

Yes, I'd be thrilled to take him at 16 if available. That gives you options and a QB of the future if he works out. Options could be trading Romo at some point or letting Manziel sit and learn for a while. Not sure how he would feel about that though, he doesn't seem like the personality to sit on a bench for 2-3 years. It would also be tougher on Romo with a good option behind him because fans would give him the Tebow treatment.

After the Tebow fiasco, no way Jerry lets him pass by. I hope he does but JJ loves the publicity

The kid plays in the toughest conference in college football and dominates.

He therefore dominates the best up and coming talent that will be arriving to the NFL.

His size is the issue but he plays NFL fast already.

The way u can't hit the QB anymore helps his case.

If a great QB falls and we pass on him, then we're doomed for the next 5 to 8 years.

True, but we're talking about Manziel here ;)

Kidding, sort of. He's been great in college, but I honestly don't know if he'll be that great in the pros.

Yes...I've been clear about my desire for Manziel. I'd even trade up to the Rams second spot to get him no matter what the cost. I mean, we gave up two 1st for Joey Galloway and a 1st for Roy Williams. I'd easily give up our 1st and 2nd round picks in this draft and next years to get him.

I WANT JOHNNY FOOTBALL ON THIS TEAM! He represents everything this team has lacked recently: confidence, bravado, brashness, leadership, etc. He'd be the most hated player on the most hated team and he would relish in the opportunity to be that guy.

I hope Jerry drafts him even if it requires trading up. Since I don't have much faith in the Cowboys being a top team for the next several years, I want to be entertained. Johnny Football will entertain even if the Cowboys lose. That is Jerry's goal anyway. If they can trade up for a scrub like Claiborne, they shouldn't think twice.

Pass..

Basically every NFL a QB that is any good was a senior in College.

No thanks to underclassmen QBs until one actually does something.

Why? If we don't improve this year we will have an even higher pick the following year. Are you suggesting there won't be any more great qbs coming along?
