You expect me to believe another year of Romo, Witten, Ware, Garrett is supposed to compete w/that?

We franchised Spencer for nearly 11 million dollars last year. They signed Michael Bennett to 1 year, 5 million and Avril for 2 years and 11 million (guaranteed). They got 2 players that were highly productive and we got 0 production for the same money. Nuff said.

I get the lamentation about Spencer, but the simple fact of the matter is not that we paid him but that we honestly thought we were "set" by bringing him back.

The Seahawks went to the divisional round last year and still decided they had to invest that in the pass rush. And it paid off, in spades.

Fans of every other NFL franchise are saying the same thing right now. Including Denver. The offseason is long, and a lot can happen in a year or two. Most of us weren't expecting to vault to Superbowl competitors in a few months, anyway.

when the last Cowboys Super Bowl was 1995, I don't think a few months or YEARs matter anymore.... Now the Cowboy homers can get on with the Super Bowl or bust offseason post.....

I know right? So what's the point anymore? Why are we here?

Ok - We're all frustrated and weary but in your own words " A few too many Heinekins tonight." So...

Offensively we can compete with anybody and we proved it meaning we can be in any game we play. But we are a long long ways away defensively and organizationally from competing with them. But we are not alone.

Not the best night to compare Dallas and Seattle. Take a break and re-energize!

I might have been born at night but not last night. We are years from competing with those monsters in Seattle.

With our coach we will never be near tough enough. The Players are irrelevent. The guys in seattle were not all blue chip players. They have this thing that is unfamiliar to dallas players called coaching.

LOL…Pete Carroll, the latest greatest coach ever, yet fired twice from an NFL HC gig, once after one season.

Perhaps, just perhaps, a coach has to find his way sometimes.

That's true. I've considered that very fact. Belincek was fired too.

So let's get on with it and fire JG so he can someday become a good coach for someone else!

The saddest thing was when they were showing the GM and saying how he's been building this team for 5 years. He had a plan and didn't get discouraged the first few years it didn't work. It's sad because he's an actual GM who's great at his job. Our GM is a billionaire hobbyist.

No team is light years away in the NFL. The 2-14 Colts were "light years" away from getting into the playoffs 2 years in a row... oh wait.

I saw a team out there today that was more talented, more physical, more charismatic, and more coaching than our boys. Jerry did not create this mess in overnight so we shouldn't expect a fix overnight as well. The cap and the severe lack of talent on this team is going to take at the bare minimum 2 years to fix.

No worries, this is why we brought in Kiffin. He even has the guys watching Seattle D tape. It's all good.

The superbowl was played 2 weeks ago. Seahawks and Whiners are the 2 best teams in the league. I really wanna see how they do when they sign their players to big contracts.

Yeah, let's just chalk it up to bad luck. Nevermind that they already had a deep defensive line, but still got two players for the same price as what we paid our 1.

You guys are great. You can turn anything into a "Cowboys suck" thread.

Oh, I am sorry. Was not the thread theme along those lines?

Where is the "Hey guyZ, we are going to be champs next YEER!" thread?

If the results of this game convinced Jerry to go all defense in the early rounds of draft, we made some headway today.

If you think pass defense is what reduced Manning to an indecisive flop, you do not know what you are watching.

Depends on what you consider pass defense. If you're just referring to the coverage part, then it's mistaken. I take it to mean the entire defense...pass rush and coverage.
