Very little cred to whom?
The coaches? Maybe.
The players? Those FO guys write them their checks and none of them have bounced yet... So- no. They have cred with the players.
To the fans? They haven't been credible for years and they haven't cared so far so...

What's my point?
Hey man (or woman- I don't know)- I'm drunk as hell and my ma is having her second open heart surgery at 5 in the morning tomorrow to fix her stupid-*** first surgeon's terrible mistake.
Such a bad mistake they had to fly her to the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix so that those doctors could fix the mess they made.
You should feel lucky I was able to spell my words correctly at this point.
And that I utilized the word "whom" correctly...

I know you are really hurting and I feel for you. I am very sorry about the physician's mistake. I had one to make a mistake with my wife. It is really tough. I pray your wife will go through whatever surgery necessary with flying colors. After surgery please let all of us know how she is doing. In times like this, what JJ does or doesn't do won't seem very important. The surgery does help us to get our priorities straight - for all of us.

The injuries might have more to do with age and not having adequate help around him. He was trying too hard at times because he knew no one else was going to get to the quarterback. If the Cowboys hurt his career, it's by not surrounding him with a better cast.

The jury is still out in my opinion. Releasing Ware is only one brick of the wall. Now the braintrust must follow up with solid, although not necessarily spectacular, free agent acquisitions before the draft. Their focus should bolster the defense primarily and minimize as many needs as possible headed into the draft. A solid draft is a necessity. And parting ways with Austin would be a final statement move. I would say the franchise has changed for the better only after they have made a number of positive moves to improve the roster without stumbling in the process.

I think the question should be..... What team will over pay for Ware? Possibly the Commanders?

I don't know if it's for the better... but it's certainly the type of move that other successful teams would do and the type that we haven't done before... so maybe.

Reminds me of when they let Dion Sanders go.

It changed the team profoundly at first.

I don't think it will take long to replace his production.

You don't think it will take long to replace the all time sack leader for the organization?

When they moved to the 4-3 the writing was on the wall on Ware's eventual release. He was undersized to play that position in today's NFL. It showed in his lack of productivity and his many injuries. I'm sure he'll have a couple or 3 more solid years if he ends up on a 3-4 team. Good luck to you Ware.

How did they hurt his career..?

Goodness..

they drafted him as the centerpiece of their defense..

then moved him around and designed schemes to feature his skill set.

They made the guy.

He's in for a rude awakening at his next team.

They are not going to be as invested in him as Dallas was.

He made a mistake not redoing his deal with Dallas.

Well, no, it is going to be the same as it has always been. Rather random, and that comes from straight from Jerry, if you didn't have a ton of other dead money and stupid contracts, then you could have kept Ware on if you chose too. I'd rather have Ware on the books for $12M and playing than $8M and not playing.

Cowboys owner and General Manager Jerry Jones released the team’s longtime star pass rusher DeMarcus Ware today, but Jones said Ware’s days in Dallas aren’t necessarily over.

Jones released a statement shortly after the decision to cut Ware became official, saying that Ware would be open to coming back, and the Cowboys would be open to bringing him back.

I think if he doesnt get the number that would be more then what the Cowboys were willing to give him. He will be back. Under the contract he had he was most likely gone next yr.

I think it would be a mistake psychologically for Ware and for the team.
You can't go forward by looking back. Both parties need to move on. I hope Ware gets a great contract and does great except when he plays the Cowboys.

Its a process.

Ware hurt Ware's career. His inability to be creative on the pass rush made him predictable. He could have learned a lot from an undersized player like Charles Haley. Watching Ware these last couple of years made me want to bang my head against the wall.

Funny how everybody was blaming Wade and Parcells for having Ware stop back in coverage and not just rushing the QB. Ware was a phenom on this team and allowed creativity on the defense.

Of course not, this is just more reactive Cowboy nonsense. They should have shed him last season before they tried to change his position to suit old man Kiffin and his relic defense.

4-3 ends take a beating compared to 3-4 OLB. So yeah, I agree he could have some left in the tank in a 3-4.
