So I'm at work and 102.9 is on by default. For those not in the DFW metroplex, 102.9 is a safe mix of new and semi old, and sometimes nostalgic songs will pop up... Mix 102.9.

Anyway, Spin Doctors -- 2 Princes is sure to play at least once every other day, and I would like to nominate it the worst song of the 90s, a decade that is getting increasingly annoying as we get further and further away.

I'm sure there are worse ones, so please join in and share if you can top that, or if you love the song please argue your case.

Spin Doctors -- 2 Princes. Worst song of the 90s.

In my book... just about all of them. :D

Yeah... what is that? I'm a somewhat younger guy who largely grew up in the 90s. I used to love some of this music, but most of it irritates me now.

I mean, what was the deal with throwing a harmonica into nearly every song?

LOL!

Yeah, it happens when you grow older.

You learn to hate all pop music after a certain date. For me it was in my late 20's when started to despise the then current music scene.

No idea for Chumbawamba but I felt like it was toward the end of the decade. For sure in the 90s. About as repetitive as Spin Doctors, 2 Princes. Just replace the "just go ahead now" with "I get knocked down".

God that song was in so many happy go-lucky, teen comedy movie trailers.

Ever hear the Spin Doctors live for any bad reason? Absolutely pathetic. I have no idea how many takes that singer had to do for the album to get it more or less on key the whole time, but he can't do it live with a gun to his head. They sound like bad karaoke.

Looked it up: Chumbawamba was Tub-thumping in 1997. They just broke up finally in 2012. Crying silently to myself over here. Let's hope they don't get up again.

When you do it as a youth, you're considered alternative or a thug. Funny how that works out.

That Sugar Ray song "Every Morning" was the worst.

The underground rap scene and grunge is where the 90's thrived.

Gotta say I did like "All Star" by Smashmouth which was released in '99.

Ha I was thinking "All Star" when I mentioned the Chumbawamba song being in a lot of movie trailers. But yeah, All Star was overplayed and overexposed, but I don't hate the song by any means. Safe rock, but nothing really dumb about the song... not yet at least.

"Marching to Mars" by Sammy Hagar is one of the worst songs I've ever heard in my life.

Anytime a thread like this comes up, I can only say:

I may have heard it twice, but it is so bad I can't forget it. My God, worse song of the century, let alone that decade.

All Star pretty terrible when you compare it to the quality 90's music :)

I would consider it pop, not rock.

A few nominations:

4 Non Blondes: What's Up
Hanson: MMMBop
Los Del Rio: Macarena

I don't know what decade it was but I saw Boy George on something once. Anything he does would get my vote for worse song.
