If the Patriots are interested in QBs and they have Brady, why don't we?

We haven't had the luxury of stockpiling enough picks like NE, the Packers and a few others do and utilizing them to draft QBs on a somewhat regular basis. Good scouting and management can work wonders when it comes to accumulating successful draft picks, teams and rosters. NE is the poster boy of teams in doing just that. They're more the exception than the rule. We're not.

The difference between the Pats and Cowboys is nothing more than Tom Brady.

So the Patriots defense is as bad as Dallas'? That's news to me. The Cowboys lost games in 2013 when scoring 48, 30, and 36 points and people still think Romo is the problem. If this team won those and went 11-5 last year with the 32nd ranked defense in football, Romo would.....oh, never mind, it's all been talked about already.

Due diligence by one of the most professional Teams in the World of sports the New England Patriots and they have two Starting QBs with Ryan Mallet waiting in the wings.

I always liked Mallet and the Pats got a steal when they drafted him in the third. I would have no problem with Dallas trading for him and get rid of Orton.

That wouldn't bother me a bit if the price was right. I wouldn't give up more than a 5th (maybe a 4th) for him, though, tbh.

It will absolutely crack me up if the Cowboys draft a QB and the Patriots don't.

Oh wait, since they do everything right it will mean we shouldn't have even though we did. I forgot how fast gears get stripped slamming into reverse.

My gosh talk about overreaction.

I swear if a report said the Patriots are looking at Indian Cricket players as a possible source of future NFL QB's, people would be like "why don't the Cowboys start scouting the Indian cricket leagues"???

I'm counting the minutes to Brady's retirement, we'll see how great they are without him.

The difference between the Pats and Cowboys is nothing more than Tom Brady.

Even last year?

Come on, Eddie

Scoring defense
Dallas gave up 27 ppg
*NE gave up only 21.1 ppg

giant difference.

Scoring offense
*NE = 27.8
Dallas = 27.4

QBs

Brady
TD = 25
INT = 11
y/a = 6.92
QB rating = 87.3

Romo
*TD = 31
*INT = 10
*y/a = 7.13
*QB rating = 96.7

I'm sure the Pats have a plan in place to replace Tom. They seem to always have extra picks to play with & they are always finding good players if they have a need.

It's not his way. It's the team's way. Whichever way they go, it's right and about to reap major success.

One of these years they'll be right and hit you with an I told you so.

If it wasn't for Payton/Parcells = Romo then Jerry would be where re: QB?

Probably a few more 5-11 seasons with 3-13 seasons mixed in there in a Romo-less era.

Unbelievable how bad Jerry is.

Actually, I think if you read the reports the Cowboys have shown interest in about 12 QBs. So it would seem to me that we are, whether we know the Patriots are or aren't is irrelevant. Do I think we will go QB in round 1? No, and I don't think they will either.

The betting is that Jerra will pick a defensive guy. But "Jerry the football guy" might half other ideas and that always worry me ever draft day.

Last time I checked 5 > 3 ... and they have 0 since Spy Gate.

But they are consistent winners year after year. They have become the team that Dallas was during the Landry years. I think many of us would be happy to have the success that the Pats have has over the last few years instead of the trend the current team is in. The current team has broke many records, but the records are for bad play.
