***Official Draft Thread Day THREE***

This is Dallas, if they liked him, and had him at the top of their draft board when it was there turn, you TAKE him. I personally don't know much about the player, but it seems Dallas loves him and they got him, hopefully he turns into a solid pick for us.

This mistake is exactly why the cowboys have not drafted well. You always take into consideration not ONLY how high you have a player ranked, but also how highly he is ranked among other teams, to make sure you always are drafting the best value at each spot. The NFL draft is a crapshoot, a game built on maximizing value. We are very bad at the game.

why the fist pumps? you would have thought someone slipped. I am betting most teams had to pull him up on computer trying to remember if they even saw him at combine.

So where was he rated by 31 other teams?

People seem to live to get shots in

Has Jerry done anything in the last 10 years to give him the benefit of the doubt? Any other GM would've been fired long ago. Being the owner doesn't save him from criticism. Especially with his history.

So tell me, how highly was he ranked among other teams?

B/c they have a history being right and we have a history of being wrong.

That's not the point....the point is, once again, if they picked Hitchens, people would say it's a great pick and is a good player and got value...we pick the same guy, and we suck as usual....
So same player different opinions because of what team picked him....in the 90's, Jimmy had many, many picks like this, that were special teamers...but hey, they were winning, so no problem. and it was Jimmy.....he had a lot of picks like this.....

Other picks going on now, are they reaches?

Even Mickey and Brian don't sound happy with this last pick.Mickey just ask do they have to start drafting for special teams this early.this was a terrible pick.no 3rd round pick, and now a bad 4th round pick. this is not good cowboys fans.

Yep, Just like when Brewster and AoA and Jason Williams and Matt Johnson were steals as well.

Picks didn't work out. I am sure this is the first time that a 4th rounder was not a successful pick in the history of the NFL draft. We are so unlucky.

*sigh*

I think the problem has more to do with our scouting report team, that's what needs to change, not the philosophy (in my opinion).

What's the point of making a draft board if you're not going to stick to it?

i would have rather taken a punter, and i am not lying.
so many good players on board and we REACH like that, i should be used to it but the hope we have is just grinded away every year as we move thru the rounds
