unbelievable run!!! I'm so happy right now!! so proud to be a spurs fan!! Kawhi was unbelievable and i hope he becomes the great player i think he has the potential to become! i think one of the turning points of this game was battier's cheap shot on manu, he immediately got pissed off and started destroying the heat! my favorite sports moments ever!!

1)this title
2)UT beating USC in 05/06
3)Man City winning the title in 2012

Go Spurs Go!!!

for me, the 2003 title was more special.....I went to game 1 of the Finals, plus it was David's swan song.

I was too young to remember the Cowboys 77 Super Bowl victory.......but, I have been fortunate to see the Boys win 3 titles, the Spurs win 5 titles, the Penguins win 3 titles, the Astros make the World Series, the Horns win a National Championship, and my HS win 6 state football championships

But what makes this one super special is how we thoroughly dominated and embarrassed the Heat

the one thing ill say about 03 that you haven't mentioned was how unexpected it was. we were in a rebuilding year, getting ready to just have cap space to sign jermain oneal and/or jason kidd. it was the least expected of all the titles for me. I just like this one better because of the revenge factor, and the fact that it is so meaningful to timmy's legacy, plus maybe the beginning of kawhi's

I know it's soon but how do people feel about the future of the Spurs? We keep expecting them to wear down or call it quits but they keep getting better every year. I think Kawhi Leonard has a lot of potential. Reminds me of someone like Paul George who would be borderline-superstar if they were on the right team. The Pacers need George to be the guy. The Spurs don't depend on Leonard the same way. Then you have Tony Parker who's still very much in his prime and deserves to be in the same conversation as Chris Paul. Of course, Tim and Manu aren't what they used to be but they're pretty darn good. I think Green is overrated and Diaw is just another guy. But the core of Leonard, Parker, Duncan, Gino is good enough to do it for another year or two.

i see our team contending next year, maybe even the favorites if we get home court again and are healthy heading to the playoffs. i see Kawhi being much better next season, maybe the clear best player on the team. tony will regress and so will manu, i think tim will be the exact same as he was this year. if we can resign boris and patty that would be great also. I don't see us signing any new players of consequence. prob a 12th man to replace bonner.

I didn't see him crying to the refs tonight. He played his heart out. Not his fault his coach was lost versus pop and his team was not nearly a good as the Spurs.

you didnt watch the same game i did...arguing with the refs, giving his mean mug face all over the place. man i cant stand him.

Congrats Spurs. I admire them from afar.

I hope Duncan comes back for a year or two.

Players don't say it without reason, when talking about Jordan and getting the job done and completely taking over a game. Lebron crying on the sidelines, shaking his head at the multiple run of the Spurs and sulking during the game.. He didn't play bad overall, but looking at the guy's 'efficiency' does not translate into taking over a game and totally dominating from start to finish.

If Ray Allen missed the three last year, Kawhi would have had the MVP last year. He held Lebron under 20 points three times during the finals. This wasn't a fluke. Lebron is not the greatest one-on-one player in the NBA, he is the best all-around player.

Congrats to the Spurs.

I love that not only the Heat lost but that they got smashed.

Lebron did what he could but I'm glad he once again lost.

3 Finals have now been lost with him as the main guy. More losses than wins. I'm loving that.

The guy is no doubt an amazing player but I'm simply not a fan and I'll admit I'm bias because I wind up hating guys that get compared to Jordan before they ever do anything. As soon as they start that I wind up not liking the player. It was the same way with Kobe for me and to this day I still don't like him.

I'm not a Lebron fan... but no doubt this arse-whipping took him and then entire Miami franchise by surprise. They didn't expect to be repeatedly taken to the woodshed and I think it shook him right to the core.

It's not that Miami has a bad team. They've got a good team.

But they went up against one of the best teams ever in this Spurs group.

Even when the Spurs were down 16 to the Heat early on in game 5, there I don't think there was a doubt in anyone's minds that the Spurs were going to come back. You just knew it was going to happen.

I don't know. I can see a few key pieces deciding to hang it up after this one. If that happens, that will hurt.

James sets himself up as an easy guy to hate. LOL!

The thing is you read what he says about San Antonio and he does envy their system.

Here's a somewhat crazy thought that I'm going to throw out there... At some point in Lebron James career I think he plays for San Antonio.

I think Miami has a good team for the East but they are not all that good of a team IMO. They don't play very good defense and that was exposed time after time in this series. I think that this San Antonio team was better and I think that it plays well together but I don't think it's a great team either. Just a good one. I think there were 3, maybe 4 teams in the West that could have beaten Miami. JMO

Hard to not envy their system.

They're good year after year after year. They're always competiting for titles and now have 5 championships since Duncan arrived.

Their coach is probably the best coach in the game and has been for quite a while.

Lebron started off this series well. The thing with Lebron is, if he gets hit in the mouth, he loses his aggressiveness. During that stretch run last night for example, he simply abandoned the post. He goes back to his top-of-the-key passing. He started sulking in the third and it looked like he accepted defeat already.

The Mike Miller loss was actually huge for the Heat. A lot of their shooters are spot-up, but Miller could hit it on the run. Mills did to Miami last night, what Miller did to the Spurs in their wins last year in the finals.

While there is a somewhat mocking undertone when someone utters the "next man up" phrase for the Cowboys, for the Spurs it is decidedly the case. This consistent play for what? 15 years? Is truly due to the "next man up" principle.

And while one or two or maybe all three of the elder statemen of the Spurs may hang it up, honestly I don't think any of them will.

In addition how many ring-less free agents would love to be part of that system? I bet there's many who would take a San Antonio discount to be part of that team.
