Schefter is on Dallas radio right now.

Get this,.he says that it's not good for the league to have Sam not in the league and the Cowboys are "righting a wrong" by bringing him in.

He even went so far as to say that he's not claiming horse trading goes on, but don't think the Cowboys didn't get a call from the league about this.

How incredibly strange.

I think that's bogus. At least I would hope it is.

why? he was cut Sat and like many player in his position they are being brought in by teams. Was Korey Toomer move Jerry as well we brought him in yesterday? or how about CJ Spiller? Sorry I think the notion that players some fans may not like are Jerry selection and the ones they like are coaching moves. I don't buy it.

Mainly because I imagine a team that needs pass rushers as badly as Dallas seems to need them would have had all their scouts, positional coaches and coordinators creating a list for players to look out for as soon as they hit the waiver list or the street. If so, what would be the reason for not calling him in sooner? My only thought is that they didn't regard him highly enough to make an immediate move for him. What made them make the move 3 days after he became available? One answer could be Jerruh's insistence on doing so, even though Garrett and Marinelli were ok with letting him go elsewhere.

This makes alot of sense because the NFL would definitely get scrutinized if Sam didn't get picked up.

So...we sign Sam to the PS, and the league cuts a break for Brent. Hmmmmmm......

BTW, this is occurring after Bryan Broaddus said it wouldn't.

Why people think he's some inside source is beyond me.

Saw that too. Guy is a hack. Cant believe he gets paid to cover the Cowboys.

Reminded of Brian Windhorst who gets paid to cover Lebron. Yet the morning before Lebron's letter he said on a radio show it was unlikely he'd go back to the Cavs. lol

So would I. Or at least that it's 90% Schefter's opinion.

You would hope stuff like that doesn't go on, but he sounded pretty sure of himself... If not in this particular instance, that calls like that do happen.

I remember in the summer he said draft picks signings were way off yet. Then they started signing the very next day.

He's guessing. Nobody's feeding him information. Even the Cowboys aren't that stupid.

Could you imagine how much backlash the NFL would get if Sam never got another chance?

Can't help but feel like this is a "look at me" move by Jerry since he didn't draft manziel.

I would agree with this more if Sam was a WR, where we clearly don't have a need.

But when your most accomplished, functional pass rusher on the roster is George friggin Selvie, you gotta grab at whatever straws you can find.
