and who is to say this is not a Garrett/ Marinelli move?
I get the feeling that if it were a Garrett/Marinelli move he would have been brought in before now.

That's right, Jerry Jones is ruining my favorite team, not just because of this move, but this is just another example of him bringing the circus into town rather than making football moves. The other practice squad signings don't have the entire media begging for them to get a job because of non football issues.
What in the world are you talking about? This is a football move. The kid was an SEC Defensive player on the year, showed potential in his work with the Rams against 2nd and 3rd stringers and will now be given time to develop on the practice squad like most 7th rounds and undrafted rookies. Add in the fact that this team is absolutely in dire situation in regards to the pass rush, this is far from a terrible move.

If it was, let's say, Troy Aikman's son that they signed to the practice squad, would you be throwing this fit?
Didn't think so.
This is a terrible move, awards in college don't mean anything to me, this guy isn't that good and his circus isn't worth the trouble because it doesn't match or exceed his talent
Is Troy Aikman's son on the Practice Squad and can his son actually play?
No? Didn't think so.
I hope he makes the team. And I hope he plays in a night game. And I hope he gets a sack.
Then I can ask you guys if you saw Sam's sack last night.
Are we toeing the line here? I'll stop.
The Practice squad is for development of players who have something that might be developed, so as to contribute. Sam fits this to a tee IMO. Here is a guy who has enough shortcomings in his game to prevent him from making a roster. However, he is also a guy who has some upside that might be able to turn into something if he can be developed. Sam is not the all world football player some made him out to be but, he is a guy who is the ideal candidate for why the PS exists in the NFL.
I think this is a very smart move for the team.
I think Rick Gosselin is a fool much of the time, but this morning he was saying he thought that sensational ESPN Jerry Football story was planned by Jerry to generate buzz and take the focus off his football team because he knows it's not a good team. People wondered why in the world Jerry would agree to such an inside look at his life... That would explain it.
So who knows, you may have hit on it. This could be to keep us relevant, just as Jerry said Manziel would do.
For those who say that couldn't be true and this is strictly about football, remember that Will McClay said weeks ago he didn't think Sam was a fit for this defense.
I guess he let Jerry borrow the reins on this one.
What the heck took so long?
