Garrett vs. Fisher

i never though fisher was a great coach, or cowher for that matter either. most nfl coaches can win if they have the players. the rams don't have the talent on offense to win.
to me a great coach is a guy who can win with sub par talent. maybe not win the super bowl but if you can take a team that has serious weaknesses and get them to the playoffs then thats a good coach to me.

This is the first year that the cowboys have actively removed Garrett from any game planning and playcalling responsibilities and the results are evident

This is linehan and marinelli

Garrett is just the trainee puppet

Get used to it

Seems like made up nonsense to fit a narrative. If you don't believe Garrett is heavily involved in the game plan, then I have some beach front property in Wyoming that's for sale.

Rams are loaded with top 5 picks and these guys can't do jack. Their D line sucks and the O Line sucks. Rams are getting top picks but not getting any positive results

Why are you comparing JG to Fisher only?

Why not compare JG to Harbaugh or Chip Kelly? Two coaches that actually took their teams to the playoffs their first year. They didn't need multiple 8-8 season processes to do so.

No. Chip just needed the Cowboys backup QB to throw a pick in the final minute of the season finale.

I think that guy might be a genius.

Fisher sucks. One of many coaches who has been around much too long and continues to be way overrated for no apparent reason other than the fact that he has been around much too long.

lol, uh huh. This is the first year that your future has become clear. A lot of crow eating. Get used to it :)

Because it does not serve OPs narrative

OP has been waiting over 3 years to create this thread

Actually, no, I could have already created it 3 times, the 3 times that head coach Jason Garrett's team has BEATEN Jeff Fisher's head coached team.

Ahhh... Remember the old days when they were complaining that Jerry is interfering and not allowing Garrett to pick his own staff. I guess part of Garrett's process was to have his TE coach, his own brother, constantly promoted until he became Passing Game Coordinator as well, only to be 'released' the very next year.

There's by buddy Khiladi... high five on this Tuesday morning. Proof that you can completely disagree, and I mean COMPLETELY, on a subject and still be friendly.

Man, I hope we keep winning at something near this rate to the point where we can drop the fantasy pretense that our head coach isn't actually involved in the team's success. In my opinion, there maybe hasn't been a sillier argument in my entire time at CZ, and that includes the Tony Romo hat-backwards and the Tony Romo golf threads.

I will admit to a morbid fascination with watching the logical contortions, though, as it gets harder and harder to not credit the head coach with a straight face.

The no of 1st and 2nd rd picks on the Rams defense is ridiculous and yet they cant get it together, imagine us failing to run the ball well even after drafting 3 first rders.

My advice? Don't hold your breath.

I'm kind of surprised there are still some who aren't willing to credit him for anything, honestly. But at some point you have to think they'd at the very least all move into the 'he does a good job managing it all as long as you keep him away from the play calling' dodge, wouldn't you? Instead of pretending this is all happening because of schedule breaks and coordinators (as if he didn't bring in the coordinators he wanted in the first place)?

One of the most ridiculous things I've ever witnessed. An unmistakable evidence for the ability that pride has to distort man's mind.

There will always be those who will assign Jason Garrett zero credit for the team's efforts. People formulate their own opinions about the inner workings of sports. Whether their opinion is based on actual fact is another matter of discussion.

I would recommend you rewind to the off season and hear our GM, you seem to have a short memory span

Fisher's teams have been reknowned for not valuing character in player acquistion, and playing very undisciplined.

Not sure that he would be a guy that I would ever be interested in.

It is kind of ironic though that the same people who didn't want to give him any blame during the three 8-8 seasons now want to give him all the credit for the 5-1 start.

How many times was the comparison made by some. Well.... did you see the end of the first half of tonight's Monday night game? Long TD given up just before half? ESPN post game called it "JUNIOR HIGH FOOTBALL." Hmmm.... I thought Fisher was a REAL coach.

Just another example of how people try to accentuate every Garrett "mistake" but ignore the stuff that happens in the NFL EVERY single weekend.

Don't think Fisher gave up the TD. His DB did.
He is playing with a no name back up QB.

If we gave this current Dallas team to Fisher and current Rams team to Garrett.....That's the real question. I still don't think Garrett outperforms Fisher.

I give him credit for success and I have given him blame for loses. Heck went as far as saying he should be fired at the end of last season. Unlike some I don't have any issue giving credit and blame to any one person. Be it Jason, Jerry, Romo or whom ever but what I think it silly is those who are so damn stubborn they will not give credit to those they do not like. Dallas is winning and it is not just Jason it is a lot of people but yes he is a big part of it.
