So what can we do to patch some of the holes we have?? I said last week we could blitz McClain a little more along with Carter, and saw how we did that, with scandrick and McClain. I dont believe we can do that so much with our LB's more so McClain this week against the Iggles. So my Question is...What can Marinelli do to slow down the offense of Phillthy?

My answer: Nothing.

The defensive players have to play with aggression, technique and physicality. They must execute better than they did the first time they met. Marinelli can pray that Tony and the o-line play better as well.

I think main thing is offense doing better job than they did last time we played Philly so that defense can remain fresher through out the game. I think the main key for defense is to maintain gap control, McCoy had 159 yards on Dallas by simply using cut back lanes as defenders would over pursue. In my opinion McCoy is the key

lol this is 2 tru, i guess part of me wants to see some kinda scheme or that "ameba" i think that what they call it where everyone is standing up at the line then 1 or 2 or even 4-5 guys rush at the snap...maybe if we grab a lead early?

i agree but at this time of year i feel maybe the defense should try and add a little wrinkle

you know lets put Mark to the Test not give him room to make himself look good

I don't have issues of using blitz but I think for it to be effective Dallas has to win that 1st down battle to keep Philly in passing down and distance. As for overall scheme it comes down to doing the basics which is maintaining gap control and tackling, when this defense does that they end up playing pretty good ball. And don't be so quick to get off the ball carrier when you do tackle them, philly wants a fast pace lets try to slow that down a bit. lol

You put him to the test when he is having to over come 2nd long and 3rd and long to do that McCoy is the key. Dallas can't allow him to rush for 159 it makes Sanchez more effective when he is looking at short yardage situations.

This.

Can Brent be a factor this weekend? As said, Dallas desperately needs to win first down and try to keep Philly in 2nd and 7-8 situations than 2nd and 4 or 5.

Forget 1 tech of 3 tech. I'd constantly line our best DL over Gardner. He's their weak link along the OL and he had trouble all day with whomever lined up over him against Seattle.

The Cowboys offense lost the last game against Philly. They have to score much more than 10 points and they have to run the ball to keep the defense off the field.

Scandrick should play man-to-man in teh slot and he + linebackers need to take away crossing routes.

Keep contain on the run, but reduce aggressiveness.

Keep an eye on Sproles but don't let his entire presence influence you so much.

I don't know that we can actually slow them. Seattle's blueprint was lockdown secondary play, linebackers covering sideline to sideline, and a consistent pass rush. That's not something Dallas is going to be able to do. We're going to have to score a lot of point, and get it to a point where Sanchez has to throw so much that he makes a few mistakes.

This team will live and die by the offense. That's pretty much good news because we are really good on O. Yes, we've had a few bad games but even the mighty Broncos have had a few clunker days on O

Agreed, the defense was sluggish early but they gave the offense plenty of opportunities to get back into it.

And while I don't like to blame officiating, especially not in a loss that bad, the non-PI call on Dez made a HUGE difference in the complexion of that game. They make that call and Dallas gets at least 3 on that drive...instead they lose any momentum they had and the next Eagles' score eliminates Dallas' gameplan altogether.

Nailed it. We need to gamble and send a blitz on first downs to keep 2nd n 3rd downs more predictable.
