I've been in Romo's corner pretty consistently throughout his career, although doubts did creep in occasionally.

More times than I wanted.

I started out as a huge fan of the guy, but as time went on, I definitely tired of his impulsive, devil-may-care INTs ("it was as good as a punt").

That said, I can't deny (nor do I want to) his great season thus far, but I'd be lying if I dont, in the back of mind, fear a return of the bad Romo.

I don't like having to depend on Romo (which is why the running game is so important), as I, and many, have said. IMO, less Romo is better Romo, as this season has proven.

Stolen from twitter

I've liked Romo ever since the first time he played which was a preseason game in which he called a QB sneak on the goal line and won the game. Parcels wasn't too happy about him not running the called play but cut him some slack because of the outcome. Never have stopped liking him.

i can't believe everybody on this site who is saying never.

98% of this site hated Romo after the Wk 17 Skins game in 2012.

I admit, he almost completely lost me after that game.

But overall, I think Parcells said it best 8 years ago. Romo is incredibly talented but he's a guy as coach you always have to somewhat keep under your thumb. I think the team has finally put together a true Romo-friendly offense to achieve that.

I think the only time I wavered was in Week 1 of this season. He looked like a shell of himself, and with that back surgery, I was afraid we were witnessing the end of his career.

I'm very, very happy that wasn't the case.

I've had Romo's back 99.9%.. supported him after the playoff losses, the week 17 losses.

The only time I started to question Romo was after this year's game vs. San Francisco. Just like Tony, I wondered, "Is this it?"

His YPA took a dip last year, and after that showing vs. San Fran I thought his arm was done. Glad he proved himself and most of the fanbase wrong.

Total hyperbole.

Agreed. There have been times where I've wondered whether "it" just would never happen for Romo, whether through his own fault or that of the franchise.

Still, I've never doubted that he's a top 5 (at best) or a top 8 (at worst) QB in this league.

The defense gave up over 250+ yards rushing that game and Dez had to leave that game early.

Fell in love with him in 2006 and never looked back. He has frustrated me a time or two along the way, but I always knew he had what it took to make this team succeed.

I have liked him from the first time he played, but as few others have said I have had moments of frustration, what really sold me was when he played with two cracked ribs takes alot to do that

Zero. Always knew he was great.
Only time I was down at all was the int vs the Skins at the end two years ago. Thought he was fooled into that quick throw.

I have been on Romo's bandwagon ever since he took over that Giants game in 2006. there is no getting off for me. I plan to ride that wagon until Romo retires.

I have been behind Romo since the day he stepped on the field against NY in his first year playing full time putting Bledsoe on the bench.

Romo is the only thing truly enjoyable about the Cowboys over the last 10 years to me. For that I will always be in his corner. He has made the Cowboys fun to watch during that time even though the rest of the team has been subpar (Oline especially)

I hope for his sake, much more than the fans, that he wins a Super Bowl. The fans don't deserve him (for the most part), they don't appreciate him and while I did give up the fight on this board for him, he has always had my faith. He will go down as one of my favorite Cowboys of all time, right up there with Roger and Emmitt!

Too many times to count honestly. He is finally putting it all together this year and I'm happy for him, love the way he is playing right now.....hated the way he played in Washington in 2012. But he is our QB and him continuing to play like he is gives us a good chance of going deep in the playoffs

It means that Romo himself has said he plans to play another 4 years. It means that Brady, 3 years older than Romo and still playing at a high level (see Peyton too), suggests it may be doable.

If we'd started the search 4 years ago per your suggestion what would we do with an unproven backup with an expiring contract? We for sure would have foregone other talent that is currently supporting Romo's success.

Do I think it's a stupid idea to start the search? No. But I do believe there is more than one way to skin a cat. And I am fine that we to this point have chosen to invest our resources in making Romo himself more successful - and it's working. Now if opportunity knocks this spring, that could be good too.

The Cowboys are not behind NE in finding a successor. Their QB is 3 years older and they now have a 3rd round pick from 2014 that they are testing the waters with.

Whatever... ;)

Well, if Romo said he was going to play for 4 more years I apologize. I also didn't realize Brady and payton sprinkled there fairy dust on romo as well...
