Romo to fans is like that really hot girlfriend who has amazing physical features, but she's insane in the head.
She's a complete lunatic and you really, really, really want to be done with her. But when you take another look at her she just reels you back in, it's a dangerous cycle.
For the most part I'm just joking though, of course Romo has made some plays where you just look at the T.V. and think, really Romo?
You really thought you could fit the Football in a window the size of an acorn between four defenders? I know you're good, but c'mon man.
That was especially the case when his supporting cast was piss poor and he had to carry the whole load, he knew he had to play lights out or we would lose. So he would try to do too much, and that usually meant turnovers at inopportune times. Last year's Denver game would be a perfect example of what I'm referencing, and that game pretty much sums up Romo's career.
Most of us fans that watch Dallas (not the casual NFL fan) religiously have always known he's an elite caliber QB who has been hamstrung by an inept surrounding cast, including his coaching staff, gm, owner, ect;
One can point to his offensive weapons and say, "well how are you saying he's had a bad supporting cast when he's had monstrous weapons to throw to?" And my response would be, offense hasn't been the problem. And Romo has always made his WRs look a lot better then they really are, Laurent Robinson, Miles Austin, ect; Offense only makes up a third of the game, just because he's had a very good offense doesn't make up the fact that we've had some of the worst defenses in franchise history under Romo.
To sum things up, Romo has always been an elite talent at the QB position. To make for a poor supporting cast, Romo would try to carry the whole load and do too much. Against superior teams we've faltered because well, as a team we really haven't been that good. We just had one of the better QBs in the NFL to keep us competitive even with a high school quality defense.
Football is a team sport, not even Brady, Manning, Rodgers, Brees, Montana, Aikman, Staubach, or any QB that has previously played in the NFL can win by them self. Football is widely known as the "ultimate team sport" because to be successful it takes 53 players, not just one.
