I like both Lee and Durant better than McClain, anyway, but I don't know that this source has it right. I can't imagine that guy going to the highest bidder again if he really had issues in OAK. I've also heard it reported separately that he'd invested a decent chunk of his rookie deal, so I"m not sure what to believe as far as him needing cash.

Lol suspect by whom? The CZ police? Lol

We are allowed to make assumptions. We are not on any jury or deciding his fate.

But I would imagine the people that are investigating the arson will look at McClain first, unless they have some other evidence that leads them in another direction.

If someone wrecks their car late at night, it's pretty safe to assume they were drinking.

Yes it is. It is usually how it goes.

That is not saying he did it, but he is the number one suspect.

People don't have to be so sensitive.

Not sensitive, it's just stupid to call accusing someone of burning their house down with no evidence "reasonable".

Of course he's the number one suspect, he's the only suspect. Settle down Columbo

I'm sure there is an easy answer to who set the house fire. Maybe McClain knows some related to Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes.

Big difference between accusing and assuming.

You just said he is the number one suspect. It's not personal, it's just common sense.

These reactions are funny to me. I read somewhere that it's already been concluded he's behind the fire and will get 5 years minimum. "I can't breathe. "

Nah, you need to spell it the way it is on the t-shirts...."I Can't Breath"!

He's the only suspect....hard to label him no.2. Reconfigure your handle on reasonable.

$1.5m home burns down under those circumstances it is going to be heavily scrutinized. Some people want to fixate on McClain but I doubt he is the only one with a motive.

His mortgage lender is a more likely suspect.

I don't have to reconfigure anything. They ruled arson, that means someone intentionally set the fire. It is reasonable to look into McClain as a subject. He has the most to gain financially.

It could also be vandalism or maybe some kind of vendetta. Right now I don't know, but if I had to place a bet, I would bet on McClain being involved.

Sure you do, why is it reasonable to suspect him of doing it then, when he's getting paid and has his career back on track and things are finally going well for him. A person can't sell a home for market value so the burn it down. That's reasonable if you are a lunatic. You are acting like paying someone to torch you home is as commonplace as your paper being delivered or getting a haircut, it's not, do not pretend like it is and try and convince yourself you aren't deluded as to claiming whats reasonable.

I'd like to see some more sourcing other than it was discussed on the Fan. It can stay up as a rumor for now but the OP or another member should at least give us a recap.

I don't know why you are taking it so personally.

You are missing one gigantic fact- The House WAS Burned Down

If I predicted McClain was going to burn his house down last year, that would be unreasonable. But someone burned his house down and based on what I have read about him and his actions in the past, I believe he could have done it.

Sorry if that violates some kind of code of yours, but I'm sure you'll get over it.

Beat me to it. They're likely just doing the negotiation dance right now.

I'd be surprised if McClain went down the road of just going to the highest bidder. I recall multiple sources saying he wasn't hurting for money last off-season, and I also recall a quote from Ro himself saying something along the lines of "Dallas was one of the few teams that he'd even consider coming out of retirement to play for". And he clearly wants to win. I remember at least one article chronicling how he hated it in Oakland so bad cuz they sucked. He's apparently very competitive.

Then again, who knows. Just wait and see. This is the time of year when every little fragment of news or rumor will be over analyzed and beaten to death.
