Combine chatter....

All of the quality edge rushers will be gone before Dallas' choice. I was hoping someone had a Terrell Suggs like workout and we could benefit.

Not going to happen.

There are a ton of quality edge players in this class, we'll have options at 27. Even guys like Owa, Harold, Preston Smith, Danielle Hunter are solid options and they're more 2nd tier in this class.

I was referring to one at 27. Anyone available at that stage would be a reach IMO.

Can play strong side De but he is ideal for us as a 3 tech. I am not sure he is a first rder though.

To me, a strongside end is no different than an one-technique tackle. If Dallas does not feel the first round is appropriate for a 1-T, they should feel the same about a LDE.

I can't sell him as a first round pick. You have to have quick twitch ability as a down DE in a 4-3 to warrant that high of a pick.

No way, no how. Put on your favorite pretend scout cap and watch the Texas A&M game. He looks pretty ordinary.

The thing is though if all these edge rushers go top 20, the chance for a team to reach at the end of the 1st is pretty good.

I think the Cowboys are going to end up moving out of the round. Or they're going to make a very unpopular pick from the defense only crowd.

Denzel Perryman 4.81 at 236 pounds is not good.

Bernardick McKinney 4.78 is not good

Paul Dawson 4.95 and 1.69 is bad. Even if he pulled up at the end, the 1.69 ten yard time is not good for a 235 pound 4-3 LB.

Eric Kendricks with decent time of 4.66, but a little light at 232 pounds.

Lorenzo Mauldin with a bad time of 4.9.

Shaq Thompson is small at 6-0, 228. He does have good arm length at 33.

Stephone Anthony is interesting as a mid to later round 4-3 LB with a 4.57 forty and 1.57 ten. Decent arm length of 32.5" and big hands (10-3/8").

Bud Dupree looking good at 6-4, 269, 4.57 forty, 1.60 ten, 42 vert

Perryman and McKinney has disappointed me with their 40 times.

So in a 4-3 Tampa, how does being a bit slow in coverage for these guys become a benefit?
