Darby is a pure cover CB who excels in man coverage. Doesn't always get his head around, but that can probably be fixed. Tackling needs to get better and I'm not sure how well he'll fit into a cover 2 scheme. I'd love for him to be a Cowboys, but as a 3rd CB preferably. He's gonna go round 1-2 after that 40.

PJ Williams fits the Cowboys scheme better IMO.

Ronald Darby has been on my crap list since he flipped on Notre Dame to Florida State. :)

I do agree that Williams is the better player for what the Cowboys do.

We can always move up if we need to. Last year NO gave up 27 and 91 for 20.
It's not out of the question.

Still...
How brutal would that be to lose our 3rd rounder again.

Last year, that pick that we gave up to move up for Lawrence was right in the range of
Chris Borland
Gabe Jackson
Trai Turner
Donte Moncrief
Breshaud Breeland

Well apparently TCU players just aren't very fast? Chris Hackett also just killed whatever momentum he was building with a 4.8 40 @ 195 pounds....not good at all

So now Byron Jones is the talk of the combine. 44.5 vertical.

The Cowboys should let the draft come to them - a good player will be available, they just have to not be locked in on a specific position or player.

He's a pretty decent player to boot. The shoulder needs to check out though, seems to be type of injury that may be re-occurring.

Guys that player both Safety and CB in college always peak my interest in terms of a developmental FS. He'll probably get over-drafted now with this combine performance.

10/25/14 - Connecticut cornerback Byron Jones will undergo surgery on his left shoulder and miss the remainder of the season. Coach Bob Diaco says the Huskies senior captain has a history of shoulder problems and was injured against during the first half of Thursday night's 31-21 loss at No. 18 East Carolina. Diaco says Jones should be healed in time to prepare for the NFL draft in the spring, and should be "better than new." Jones likely will be replaced in the Huskies lineup by true freshman Jamar Summers or John Green, a converted wide receiver. Jones had 24 tackles and two interceptions for the Huskies (1-6) this season, including one he returned 70-yards for a touchdown against South Florida. He finished his career with 223 tackles and eight interceptions. - AP Sports

07/24/14
- Other AAC prospects to watch in 2014: CB Byron Jones, Connecticut, RS Senior...After starting his career at safety to get on the field, Jones moved back to his more natural position at cornerback last season, leading the team with three interceptions. He has good size and length for the position and tackles like a safety with smooth pedal in reverse, but his read/react ability is only average with suspect transitional quickness and recovery speed. - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com

is this one of the worst drafts in recent memory? oline, linebackers, secondary seem below average. dline has some depth but not many stars. receivers and qbs are top heavy.

Byron Jones breaks the Combine record for the broad jump by 8 inches.

It's kind of freakish that after all of these years and hundreds of super athletes that he would break a record by that much.
