Josh Shaw looks chiseled from granite. Intriguing player. Not sure at what point he is worth the risk - 4th round?

Just looked up Bud Dupree thanks to this thread. His first step :omg:

He is an absolute blur. I don't care if he is a tweener. He has Von Miller written all over him. You find ways to get him on the field.

I don't think he is a tweener and if he is its not bad. He has pretty good weight for a 4-3 DE at 267. His wingspan isn't exceptional but I'm more than ok with his weight and think he could add a few pounds if needed.

I think a trade down is more likely this year. I for one would welcome it if the board is cleaned out.

Gotta have someone to trade w/....and that was the problem I had in the MK draft. No one wanted to move up....and It wasn't for a lack of trying to move down. Hopefully if that is the Cowboys plan...they have better luck than me.

You went from taking him in the first round to not wanting to draft him at all after a bad workout?

His listed height @ the TCU website was 6'2.......He's barely 6 @ the combine. So he's not a strong side LBer in the pros....that's what I thought he was.

He's alot slower than I thought he was. I was expecting 4.6ish.....But 4.95???

But what may have bothered me the most was his body language. It was as if he really didn't even want to be there and compete. So why show up?

That pulling up in the 40....really bothers me. It was as if he quit. Was he hurt????? Didn't seem like it because he did the other drills.

And add in his body composition.....The guy looks like he's got a beer belly going already. So disappointing:(

You read up on guys....watch tape.....highlight reels....ect. I've come the conclusion....You just don't know what to believe anymore. You just can't tell between what is

the truth and what is lies without knowing the player personally.

Guess one of the invites may have broken the world record for standing long jump.

Pretty cool to take that home with you.

To bundle up those guys with Mo is wrong. It's not their fault Mo just walked in, wrote down his name and turned around and walked out without answering any of the questions.

It was alarming. The workout wouldn't keep me from drafting him, but the lackadaisical attitude toward the workout, the biggest job audition of his life, and his dismissive comments about his past issues at TCU being chronically late to team functions would.

You have to question a player's mental state when they show up at the combine like that.

You were kind of in a tough spot there. A trade down would have decant, like you said.
Any consideration of taking Eddie Goldman?

Can't say I liked when you took Dawson in the first (it was in contention for my reach award) but I bet he ends up being a decent to good NFL player.

fwiw, I looked back at my draft in 2013 and is was legendarily bad. 2014 was ok though.

Rowe is also an interesting possibility as a FS. He played both Safety and CB in college. He had an excellent combine.

Dupree weighed in at 269 pounds. That's not really a tweener to me. Yes, maybe he can play as an OLB in a 3-4 but he has ideal size as a 4-3 DE. Von Miller was 246 at the combine.

Nope.....I didn't have Goldman as a consideration. I actually thought Josh Brent played alright...and by taking Goldman.....your getting more of the same. I almost took WR Green-Beckham though......I was that close. Had his name and photo already to send.....But then backed off because I had a plan of taking a Tackle in round 2 (Williams/Cedric Ogbuehi T Texas A&M/Fisher-Oregon)....And that would have ment 2 offensive players being selected in a row...which I 'm sure would have created quite a stir. So I took what I thought @ the time was the safest defensive player. Only to have everything I read up on the player to be a lie......and then Dawson bombs @ the combine.
