John Clayton just said Cowboys going to offer Demarco $7-7.5m per

7.5 million is too rich for player who runs out of air after 30 yards. I like Demarco but Dallas isn't in a position to over-pay at RB with the defense having major holes. I am not kidding when I say Dallas needs two new CB, S, LB, DT & DE.

Emmitt almost hit 400 carries in 4 different seasons.

What is your point? There are some athletes who can handle 400 carries. AP and Murray would both fall into that category.

Those are 2 players. Im saying in general the stats are not on his side. You are comparing Murray to Peterson athletically?

They both have identical running styles. Both are physical freaks. AP can hit the home run, but Murray is also a very special player. I wouldn't tamper with the team chemistry personally. I would sign Murray to a 4 year deal with the guaranteed in the first 2 years, and draft the Miami kid in the 3rd if he is available to replace Randle.

If Murray goes elsewhere, then AP better come in. I think having a top 3 RB solves alot of defensive issues indirectly.

So roughly a million less. Colts make the playoffs every year. But Murray wont get nearly as much touches in Indy. Thats just a guess.....

I am trying to put myself in Murrays shoes...

Honestly, I think I take the extra million. If it were a team that hardly ever made the playoffs, I would probably stay in Dallas. But Indy is a good team and organization......

He will be stepping into a situation like Dallas pre-2014

A pass happy offense, that cannot run it. Indy's OL is a finesse line not really good at run blocking. Murray goes there he will again in a situation where they will pass the ball more than run it.

There is nothing at all to indicate that Murray would NOT hit the wall just like 90% of the other backs that had a lot of carries and were never the same again. 9-1 odds against Murray being the exception. Dumb bet.

The human body can withstand an incredible amount of work when proper nutrition, resistance, and plyometric training are used.

A.P and Murray are in peak physical condition year round. The only 2 running backs in the NFL that I can see carry that kind of load consistently are Murray/A.P . With Lynch being right behind but I question his nutrition highly.

You missed the part about tax difference between the two states.... its almost a wash.

It doesn't work that way.

For starters, Indiana's tax rate is only 3.4%
Next, You are taxed some percentage at the rate where your games are played.
It would maybe be a savings of 1.7%

This, it is not cut and dry of which state you reside in. Murray would be making substantially more in Indiana.

I'm sticking with 4 years $16M. Take it or leave it. Let Indy have him. Or whoever. No way Murray is worth $7-8M. Crazy.

That's right.

The tax savings will not remotely make up for the 1-1.5 mil difference in income.

Argh! I have to admit at this point I don't care who our primary RB is going forward. But I do care that we might pay someone $7M or more to do that. Spend half that on Ingram and the other half on a DE or S. $7M for Murray? Are you kidding me???

Plus you deduct the State tax paid from your Federal tax liability, so the net of that 1.7% is closer to 1%.

It's definitely not a wash they'd both pay full boat federally and Murray would only save state taxes on games played in Indy. So let's say the difference is 1.5m in salary. He'd pay an extra 7 percent (Indy state tax) on half of his base. Let's say he gets 9m vs our 7.5. That's an extra tax bill of 315k. A difference of 1.175m into Murray's pocket in Indy. Hardly a wash.

Yes, I jumped the gun on this... I had forgotten about the whole state to state and games thing... my mistake... I take full responsibility for my error...
there is no video...:)... wouldn't it be great if reporters owned up to their errors the way us regular joes do?... Thanks for the re-education.

Yes... My bad... I'll pay attention next time.

The same Murray who never completed a season before this one?
