well, the charges were dropped I guess, but that police report was really rough.

I would think Goodell would've learned his lesson by now.

If he would've just let the courts decide the whole Ray Rice thing he could've saved himself from all of that drama.

Goodell needs to let the courts decide. If he is not charged with anything then he should not be punished.

You cant suspend these guys for every single time they get accused of something and have to go to court for it.

I actually think the NFL should appeal Judge Doty's decision. I think the Court of Appeals has
overruled Doty several times. Hardy's case is serious because he bought his way out of
conviction on appeal. IMVHO, I think Hardy deserves another year suspension. Family
physical abuse is serious though many on this board seem not to think so.

Have you read up on the case? No pictures of her uhhh injuries, she and a friend showed up at his house on coke, he was not out with them.
He called 911, not her, trying to get the police to come remove her from his house. Not every time a woman says she was abused she actually was.
It sure sounds like that was the case here. If she was thrown around by a guy his size she would have had some type of photographical evidence on her body some where.

This may well be the Cowboys' last chance to secure a sure-fire sack machine, suspension or not. They must be compelled to take a serious look at the competitive difference between getting him and failing to do so. It could easily make the difference between a very successful season and one that isn't anything special at all.

I don't have all of the details.

All I know is what the court decided and based on that he should be eligible to play football asap.

The court had no choice since he paid off his girl friend to hide from the DA and not testify against
him on appeal. Sleazy Lawyer's trick.

6 games for what, on charges being dropped? Goodell has no chance as there will be an appeal and he will lose and look foolish again.

Just like there was with Big Ben, amirite?

Whatever. I would still sign him. Guys that can get to the QB don't grow on trees.

I agree. However, he is not getting 6 games, 4 at the most. From what I read early, the article was mentioning a 2 game suspension. No, I do not have the link on hand, I may in history at home.

The still would have taken photos of any marks on her that night. This woman had already pulled a scam like this once. It was probably way cheaper to pay her off to go away than what he would have spent on attorney fees fighting her over nothing.

This would be the right fit under the current circumstances. The talent level would be infused significantly with this specific upgrade. The character issue is what makes it affordable yet risky. The right contract could make this a wise agreement. Sounds appealing!!

If suspended, would he still be allowed to participate in offseason workouts, training camp and practices during the season?

No one is more willing to give out incentive laden, "prove it" deals, than Jerry.

If Hardy wants a shot at first tier money, but is willing to do it under incentives, the Cowboys are hands down his best option. The problem with that is, even he doesn't know what kind of crap Gooddell will try to pull. There is legal precedent that Hardy can't/shouldn't face further punishment. Who knows though...

I believe in the past this sorts of situations have allowed players to attend mini-camps, but not training camp. I may be mistaken though.
