I'm not saying that I am for or against Hardy in Dallas, but I am saying that it is nuts for them to attempt to suspend the guy for six games. Goodell had better come to the table with some evidence that supports this or the NFLPA will roast him.

After what the NFL went through last year, I cannot see how he does not get an additional suspension.

Six games is nothing and it will probably turn out to be two anyways. Go get that guy!

NFL is appealing Judge Doty's decision that they can't retroactively punish players with new punishment. But I can't imagine a court over-ruling what appears to me to be a very sound decision.

“There is no dispute that the Commissioner imposed Peterson’s discipline under the New Policy,” Judge Doty wrote. “It is also undisputed that in the [Ray] Rice arbitration, the hearing officer unequivocally recognized that the New Policy cannot be applied retroactively, notwithstanding the Commissioner’s broad discretion in meting out punishment under the CBA. . . . Consistent with that recognition, the Commissioner has acknowledged that he did not have the power to retroactively apply the New Policy: ‘The policy change was forward looking because the League is “required to provide proper notice.”‘ . . . Yet, just two weeks later, the Commissioner retroactively applied the New Policy to Peterson.”

He doesn't need evidence... Big Ben was suspended without conviction and so will Hardy.
He was convicted of abuse but bought his way out of trouble on an appeal. Lawyer's tricks
again!

I don't think he can be suspended under the new conditions, can he? It was said he would get 1-2 games at most. Well, if true, should lower the price significantly and he's an elite rusher.

6 games for what, on charges being dropped? Goodell has no chance as there will be an appeal and he will lose and look foolish again.

Can someone please give me the cliffnotes on this guy? I'm not overly familiar with him.

Oh, my, another 50 page thread based off assumption.

Another mega, merge thread, longer than war and peace. I think we need a new mega thread zone....once they reach a certain page amount, move them to the novel zone...lol
Until Hardy signs somewhere, just like AP, there will be many discussions here. And being the off season, it's ok, but need to joke about it too.

I'm ok with signing Hardy, he is a big difference maker. Sign him and McClain, then I will feel 100% better about this defense than I do now.

I would think Goodell would've learned his lesson by now.

If he would've just let the courts decide the whole Ray Rice thing he could've saved himself from all of that drama.

Goodell needs to let the courts decide. If he is not charged with anything then he should not be punished.

You cant suspend these guys for every single time they get accused of something and have to go to court for it.

2 game suspension under the Goodell / Mara / Kraft dictatorship.
6 games if he signs with the Cowboys.
A new rule will go into effect too, those 6 games will be applied at will. 2 of those games will be against the Giants, 1 against the Patriots. 1 against the Packers.
The other 2 TBA as playoffs approach. Possibly Seahawks as one game.

I see. Thanks man.

Yeah, I hear a lot about him with my best friend being a Panther fan. He's so irritated with Richardson saying he's not coming back. Apparently, a lot of players have attempted to change his mind.

Also, IIRC, he rated top five vs the run and he can really get after the QB.

Mara will ask Goodell for a year ban if he signs with us.
