Franchise tag.
No tag in this deal. It was posted earlier. He is a FA in 2016
Franchise tag.
I have no doubts about that. We haven't see a player with his motor in a long time.
My guess is they are expecting a 6-8 game suspension, which cuts the money in half.
Then, there's the franchise tag if they want to keep him, or they can extend him with a longer deal.
Wrong guess. Please read this thread before posting.
Because we've beaten it to death and because some posters can't handle discussing those issues without getting nasty and insulting.![]()
i' m not good with cap stuff, for the people that are, are we in Cap hell next year too? like if he tears it up will there be no way for us to even compete to sign him?
You just don't know.
Melton didn't meet expectations.
The Johnson kid the Buc's signed was released after signing a big FA contract.
There are no guarantees that Hardy will be the player he was two years ago. You just do not know.
Seriously?

According to Over the Cap (http://overthecap.com/salary-cap/dallas-cowboys/), we are currently at $151,869,848 for this upcoming season. 2016 is currently projected to be $110,217,390, so we're good for next season.
Define significant. Mario Williams got $40m guaranteed a few years ago. I'm sure a 6 year $110m monstrosity like Watt would have gotten him to sign but I also think you would be nuts to give it to Hardy given his circumstances.
His agent is Drew Rosenhaus and you don't use him unless you are trying to maximize your earning potential.
We should be fine.
To those of you complaining about the no franchise tag thing... I mean, would you really want to be in the same 1-year-at-a-time situation again next year? By the end of this season, we should know whether we want him locked up, or want him out. Screw the franchise tag, especially at DE prices.
There's already 20 pages nobody is reading all that ****
I think as time goes by and more of the details emerge, people will begin to understand what a good deal this really is.

1 year!? Glad he's a Cowboy but he's probably gone after this year regardless of how he plays. If he plays bad or less than we expected, we won't want to resign him. If he plays amazing, someone will outbid us for him because of this new direction the Cowboys are going with being so conservative with their money. Whatever... let's just hope it end up like the Darelle Revis situation with the Pats last season.
