And I think you can't predicate you're entire team identity on running the football and go into the season with the major question marks we have at the RB position. By letting Murray go with no viable replacement they put themselves in a position in this draft where they needed to make a move at some point and add more talent there.

Some view the RB position as being more questionable than others.

McFadden has had success in the NFL. Williams was a former 2nd round pick. Randall had about 6 ypc average on 50 carries, so it's not like the cupboard is totally bare.

And keep in mind folks like Forsett and C.J. Anderson who both led their teams in rushing last season and who were they before last season?

I disagree, But thanks for taking the time to restate your position. I understand your point but believe Murray was always what he was last year and the team did not use him correctly.

Hey, we can agree to disagree bro.

End of the day I respect you, and your opinion. Regardless of who is right or wrong, I just hope we get that trophy.

In 2009 this team had 1998 rushing yds with Marion Barber, Felix Jones, and Tashard Choice w/ an OL that got worse as the year wore on.

I'm not trying to say the Cowboys made a brilliant move by ignoring the RB position in the draft early, but merely that RBBC is something I thought they would go with the second Murray left Dallas w/o out a contract.

Why don't you take your disgust out on Murray instead of Jerry or the Cowboys? Murray could have lived just fine feeding his family on what the Cowboys offered, instead he bails and you and other blame the Cowboys?

I think I love you because you are so true blue.

You leave your brain at the door when it comes to this team. And you throw your support hard.

You are unquestionably a great fan. And I mean that with complete and utter sincerity.

Frozen, I am so afraid they have miscalculated and are forcing Romo into over risking to keep up with the other team. The 29 PPG average last season was a major part of why this team did what it did. Murray was a time clock grinder.

I see nothing in their band of bench warmers that suggest they can get the tough third and three. But we'll see.

Now back to the loooooooooooooooong wait until training camp.

The team did not have the oline Murray had last year! Use some sense dude! When Martin came aboard it solidified an oline that was being talked about as the best in the NFL! Did the great Murray have that his first years in Dallas? No...did he lead the league in rushing? No. Is it because the Cowboys did not use him right? lmao

Exactly.

Also the fact DMC had success and was real good in freaking Oakland. Gives me hope that he can get back close to that with this O-Line.

The C.J Anderson and Justin F thing is a great example though.

Murray wanted to much money! Why can't some of you get that? Murray was not the sole reason for the success of the Cowboys last season. He was a big part but not at the price of of paying him to still have a 7th ranked offense and a 17th ranked defense. Think about it...the Cowboys defense could not even get after a one legged Rodgers!

I was no Murray fan. I thought he left too many yards on the field. Yes, the running game was the one big difference between those 8-8 teams. It kept the defense fresh and took the pressure off Romo. I don't think that it was hard to see.

McFadden hasn't had success in 3 years. Williams has had exactly 1.5 successful seasons since leaving high school. Randal is a felony waiting to happen.

Sorry, if the plan was strict BPA in the draft and don't move for a RB even if you have to, they should have just re-signed Murray, or at least another veteran RB. We don't have many years left with Romo to play "let's hope" on this position this year.

Trust me, I completely understand your concern, and its very legit.

While I don't think we will have much of an issue picking up yards in general for the run game. The tough third downs, I can honestly say Murray was real good in third and short situations.

I do believe DMC, mixed with this O-Line, he can get it done.

We will see though. Like you said, it will be a long wait.

I don't think you can play the "this may be Romo's last season" game.

And other than Gurley and Gordon, I'm not seeing any of the backs out there being a sure upgrade.

They had to let Murray go...he wanted to feed his family some bologna instead of beans! Murray is the one that has all you guys pissed, not the Cowboys.

That's fine, at the time I was all for it.

But if the plan all along was not focus on getting a RB in the draft, better insurance should have been brought in than McFadden. Even a stopgap vet like Gore or Ingram.

This post sounds somewhat condescending towards me..."leave my brain at the door".

No, my brain is right here because I understand that the money that Murray wanted would have precluded what the Cowboys would be able to do with the upgrades that this team needs elsewhere.

I will tell you what...I am pissed! Very pissed! But, I am pissed at Murray not the FO for letting him bounce. If you and others want to blame the Cowboys for not keeping a good thing together, lay the blame for where it belongs...a player that values money rather than fame.

Sure thing? No. Probable? IMO, there are several guys who came within a couple of picks of us we could have made a move for that will have better careers then some of the guys on our roster.

But then I'm not convinced Randall is even a feature back or Williams even makes the roster if he hasn't picked up his special teams play and pass protection. And who knows WTH McFadden is at this point?

I agree Murray was a large part of the success, but who's fault is it that he is gone? The Cowboys? No...Murray was in a great position with this team....he chose to tip the apple cart over.

Exactly. As of now, the RBs consist of two walking injuries , a criminal and a midget. Better preparation would have helped by signing a solid RB if they were not going to draft one.

Well I'm not convinced any of the backs not named Gordon or Gurley were worth spending additional draft picks to acquire.

You spend your time here assuming so much that isn't fact. It must be tough believing you are the arbiter of sound logic for this team's fans.

I don't blame you for dissembling. Shall we do a google search for 'hope and change?' Surprise surprise it was a bunch of political cartoons hammering Obama.

I invite anyone who questions whether 2Deep is being honest to do the same google search and see for themselves.
