Ridiculous. I could just as easily say if you're led by fear you think we have to have a great RB to succeed. If you ate led by hope you see the hope that a new role brings.

Seriously, leave grade school BS psychology out of this.

Or you could just as easily do me and the board a favor and skip over my post.

Does this board have a reverse ignore button?

If you don't want people to comment on your posts, don't post. I don't get upset when people comment on mine.

It's not "people". I am not the first poster to request you to ignore them.
I've seen several posters who have told you to buzz off. Please add me to that list.

Your combative nature doesn't encourage dialogue.

Thanks

I dislike when we fans get hot under the collar over a discussion we have 0 control over.

We all want our Cowboys to win the SB. the part we disagree with is how. Jerry will do something because Jerry is Jerry. What we do is another question.

Stephen will run the show in 5-10 years and we will be better for it but i want to stack the deck for the duration of Romo's career because franchise QBS are extremely rare and highly important in the NFL today.

If someone will point out a viable alternative for aquiring a starter quality back, without using a high pick, I'm game but thinking we are set at the rb position is baffling to me.

It may not be Peterson, but I refuse to believe that we let the Offensive Player of the Year just walk out the door and we replaced him with McFadden and called it a day. We signed nobody else, we drafted nobody else, we traded for nobody else, all we did was swap Murray for McFadden and called it a day.

I absolutely refuse to believe this is the master plan for 2015.....................there has to be something else going on.

You and Dallas Dave, because I asked him to quit spamming the AP thread before it got locked.

Calling people who legitimately don't want AP here for what it would cost afraid and without hope is about as combative and non-encouraging of conversation as I can think of offhand.

Make your point, there are plenty of reasons to bring him here without resorting to grade school psychology.

who says,I've seen great backs disappear all of a sudden

They virtually all go to seed almost over night...

We've seen it with back after back.

Could Peterson still be a top back? Yeah maybe. But should the Cowboys risk a 1st round draft pick, and a salary of at least $8 mil to see on a back on the other side of thirty who hasn't had a dominant season since '12?

Exactly. I'm not opposed to AP but at what price? Cheap enough then sign me up but no way I give a first or second.

Do you think we are good at the rb position? Ready for a sb run with McFlatten and Roble?

I don't know. McFadden worries me because it is said he had problems with zone blocking, not to mention his other history. Randle bothers me because of his dumb decisions off the field.

I am not opposed to bringing in another back. I just don't want to pay a premium for one.

Every one is so quick to give up picks but this team was built with them. With the exception of Carr, Hardy, McClain and a couple other spots, this team is great because of draft picks. I loathe giving a high one away.

No doubt you are correct. There's to much smoke on the AD situation. That is where their focus is but it won't be easy to pull off. It will take patience and correct timing. They also know there will be many other RBs available later on as well. Someone we aren't even thinking about right now could suddenly become available.

what the argument is :what is AP worth to this team
and what are his chances of coming through for the Dallas Cowboys
Some try to word the disagreement "would you trade #1 for a SB trophy
but thats not the correct view. We are not handed a trophy when we hand over
our 1st round pick. We are handed a 30 year old Rb who has been great,
The discussion is can he still be great?

I agree with you too, if Jerry was running the show. With Stephen, who really knows?

The name alone will load the box with guys that would be covering guys coming out on routes. Adrian could lose 2 steps and still be plenty better than we we have currently.

I'm not dead set on AP at all. I'm dead set on having a back worthy to run behind this line. A back that teams are concerned about.

Gee, that sounds so encouraging.

"yea, our RBs suck but the rest of the team was upgraded to compensate for their suckage"

Is this really the master plan for 2015?

I think the master plan was to improve the defense– which they have... by quite a bit.

And along the way they've improved the offensive line.

Last year's team was last year's team. Last year's formula will not be this year's formula... nor does it have to be. Circumstances are different.

And no that doesn't mean Romo has to chuck it 50 times a game.

Chris Johnson averaged 4.3 YPC behind an average Jet O-line and an offense that had no passing game for defenses to respect.

AP isn't the only guy who can come to Dallas and get 1,200 yards.

Look up Justin Forsett. See what his "pedigree" was prior to last season. A free agent led the Broncos in rushing.

As I typed AP isn't the only answer.

Do you think teams are going to be concerned with Justin Forsett in Baltimore after he had 1,200 yards last season?

I'm thinking yeah.

And quite frankly it's not about the running back. It's about the attempts. It a team is disciplined in keeping up the number of attempts then the defense will respect that.
