Why the Eagles winning tonight won't be such a bad thing

Let's say the eagles win tonight by double digits, that would have the media favoring them in their home stadium next week and how they are the high flying eagles and can't be stopped, That would put all the pressure on the eagles to live up to the expectations and force dallas to raise their level of play when going to philly next week.

Now if the eagles lose, you know that they will be more desperate next week trying to avoid 0-2. So Isn't a 1-0 eagles with a win over a weak NFC south team easier to beat since they will be favored instead of a 0-1 eagles team playing to avoid a 0-2 start?

bumpity bump and......lol

But I didn't think it would be a big deal seeing them win a game over a weak team in week 1 since the eagles and cowboys are the only teams competing for the NFC east. So they win tonight and then be 1-1 next week while we are 2-0 about to face a week falcons team that they beat in week one. Follow me now?

I'd rather beat them and go 2-0 and see them go 0-2.

You honestly think they wouldn't have been hyped up to play us if they won tonight? It makes no difference. None. So glad they lost.

Want to make some money? Take Phil and the over.......easy $$$$$$

Philly has fresh legs, it is game one, not week 14. ATL is a mentally weak team and will get run out of the building. Philly's scheme will trash that defense.

You lost that bet

I tried to tell you guys Philly is not as good as people are claiming. They are overhyped. Outside WR they don't have much. TE decent, Sproles is Sproles he will make some plays but is a utility guy.
Those telling me Alt could not win well Look at the score board baby. lol

I don't think we can poke fun at the eagles until we show we can beat them next week in philly.

So I will hold off on laughing at the eagles for now.

No because they would have been over confident since they would have still been piggy backing off of what they did in preseason combined with beating Atlanta.

Now they will be desperate.

The heck with that. They earned their mockery with their preseason Super Bowl talk and their stupid fans.

It's Philly. Whatever bad happens to that team is both funny and well deserved.

People really really overestimate the emotional part of the game. You could just as easily say that they'd be confident (not overconfident) if they won, and now they'll be doubting themselves and tentative. In fact, people do say those things, usually trying to explain what happened after the fact. The Eagles will be the Eagles next week, and what happened last night didn't change that at all. Unfortunately, Sunday did change things for us, thanks to the Dez, Leary and Gregory injuries. Those are things that actually matter.

Ok... So catch me up... Good thing or bad thing they lost last night?

Well I didn't get my wish now we have to go into a rowdy environment next sunday and face a 0-1 eagles team

It was going to be rowdy regardless. At 0-1 should Dallas jump on Philly I think Philly fans are more likely to turn on Kelly and the eagles. He did not just get rid of players he got rid of some fan favorites. Bottom line philly record should have no bearing at all on the Cowboys taking care of their own business.

I casually check the lines on these games. Philly only being a -2.5 favorite last night against the Falcons screamed Falcons.

Appears Philly has opened at -4.5 against us, which is peculiar and right in that gray area.

Marinelli needs to dial up the pressure. Bradford was shaky when Atlanta was flying at him. When they went to shorter passes and the OL sured up their blocking, he was much better.

Totally blows Gregory is out.

I hope they're all so depressed they can't find the energy to shave their girlfriends' backs this week. I'm saving money for a 'You got Demarcus Murphy!' banner to fly over the Linc in the 4th quarter of a Cowboys blowout. I want to see Chip Kelly contemplating an arsenic smoothy. I want Bradford's exam results to come back positive for Progeria. I want their fans so depressed, they can't even work up the enthusiasm to make themselves vomit on small children. In short, I can't fathom wanting PHI to win just to avoid a dead cat bounce in week two. This thread confused me when it first came out. I'm positively befuddled that it's still somehow a topic of debate after they just embarrassed themselves on Monday Night Football.

Typically you get 3 points for being home.
